Scenes from a panicked populace.
My actual experience | 3/14/2020 | By Laz A. Mataz

Posted on 03/14/2020 4:18:31 PM PDT by Lazamataz

I want to share with you some scenes that greeted me at my local Kroger today.

These are scenes from a panicked populace.

Like locusts, they are stripping the shelves bare.

Kroger Toilet Paper aisle.

Kroger Deli Meat aisle.

Kroger bottled water aisle.

But that site is not accurate. Here’s an example.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
“- 1 new case in Missouri: a person in their 20s who had traveled to Austria [source]”

Missouri has 5 cases and has had more than 1 for at least a couple or more days.

Went to Trader Joe’s yesterday to pick up Challah.

No go but, there was one bottle of their vodka left. Took it.

While waiting in line I got bored and kept picking up bottles of wine.

One fella asked me why I wasn’t picking up food for this emergency

“LOL. Have enough food to go 6 months but sadly, not enough alcohol”

Made my purchase and escaped that nonsense

Had to go by my closest Walmart yesterday for several odds & ends and took a tour to survey the carnage from the morning. Beyond the usual stuff gone there was some that struck me peculiar - the cooking oil was wiped out, mayo & mustard hard hit. Can't wrap my head around that one.

Very funny, great, Iowa USMC. I enjoyed the John Stuart Mills quote on your profile, too. Semper Fi.

Laz, the bottled water and toilet paper share something in common: they are relatively low-priced items that take up bulky items to shelve.

In Georgia, we also have incredibly long lines of soda pop bottles on the shelves space — an order of magnitude larger than that the shelves for water bottles. So in terms of emergency supply for human hydration, Krogers probably still had you covered.

As for emergency toilet paper, how about buying a copy of the Sunday Atlanta Journal Constitution newspaper. Might as well put it to some useful purpose.

Finally, Kroger’s re-stocking algorithm was defective. It should have anticipated there would be a run on these items given the hysteria has been building. So at least the stores and manufacturers will be better prepared for the bout of American panic.

I remind you that more people residing in the U.S. voted for the Hildebeast than Trump. ‘Course, give or take a few million illegal or dead voters.

Sooo, do we bury them or leave 'em for the coyotes?

“Sooo, do we bury them or leave ‘em for the coyotes?”

I recall some article shortly after Katrina. Some guys were talking about their experiences helping right afterwards.

One of them spoke about the dead body propped up against a tree with a sign saying “Looters will be shot”.

Your comment about the coyotes reminded me of that. Some ranchers will hang the coyote carcass on the fence as a “warning” to the others.

I told my wife “Who would have ever thought that some day we would have more TP and paper towels than Costco!”

This tells me how effective using fear as a way to control the people can be...

Kind of ironic - we know that the Deep State and others use fear as a way to steer and control the people - we had the commie/nuke war threat until the Berlin Wall came down then it wasn’t viable anymore and up pops Globull Warming, which has many in fear that we’re gonna destroy the Earth even as we do less harm than past generations and none of the data actually supports anything but the earth’s climate and Mother Nature do not now, and never did have a “balance” and even if they did, we have no idea of how to maintain one or ‘fix’ things...all our efforts end up causing more harm....the coronavirus scare is no different - the panic-induced knee-jerking will cause more harm than the virus.
Folks who would be up in arms if the government decided to tell them they could not move freely are now begging that same government to lock them, and everyone else, down....I’d wager if, after doing that, the story ‘evolved” they would also go meekly to barb-wire surrounded camps/tent cities because the “latest info” said that’s the only way to stop it.
Even though we know that they use fear to guide and control us, so many can’t see it through the red haze of insane panic....they not only welcome the government controls, they beg for them...

And the fear mongers will try to leverage it...

Reminds me of a saying, by Ben Franklin, that many FReepers, who are now acting insane, used to showcase:

“Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”

“$1.29/Gal”

Holy cow. You might actually see the price of gas dip below a dollar. .That would be a strange world.

There may have been more votes counted for HRC than Trump, but not necessarily more voters.

“ I’m waiting to hear stories about people being mugged in grocery store parking lots and having their stuff stolen.”

My brother in Colorado told me when they had the initial run on TP and other items at his Costco, some people were filling up carts and then busting out without paying. I have not seen anything like that, but would not surprise me.
