Scenes from a panicked populace.
My actual experience | 3/14/2020 | By Laz A. Mataz

Posted on 03/14/2020 4:18:31 PM PDT by Lazamataz

I want to share with you some scenes that greeted me at my local Kroger today.

These are scenes from a panicked populace.

Like locusts, they are stripping the shelves bare.

Kroger Toilet Paper aisle.

Kroger Deli Meat aisle.

Kroger bottled water aisle.

The current panic over corona virus reminds me of an episode of Twight Zone, The Monsters are due on Maple Street.

Amazing coincidence: I was thinking about the same episode a couple days ago.

There are people who are pushing the panic on this site who are considered reliable sources...

Not no more.

It’s amazing. I never would have thought that Americans would be reacting like this to what is at worst a typical flu that, like any flu, kills some of the most vulnerable and just gives the great majority a few bad days.

Do you really think this virus is a bad flu? Aren't you even curious why every country in the world has gone to lock down to try and slow it down?

Except that we didn’t have antihistamines and all the drugs which now exist, many of which would have saved millions of lives.

I’m not playing “lets pretend medicine in 2020 is equivalent to medicine in 1918.”

Yeah, it’s all a big lefty fake job.

The Italians are faking killing 100s of their citizens a day just to hurt Trump!

On the plus side, this gives folks a glimpse of what a store in a socialist country looks like on a normal day.

...except in socialist countries, the shelves aren't restocked every day like they are in America!!

A grocer called H*E*B, based in San Antonio, has tarted limiting quantities of goods people can buy. Kudos to them for being the smart ones in the room!

Hughes insisted on using tissues to pick up objects to insulate himself from germs. He would also notice dust, stains, or other imperfections on people’s clothes and demand that they take care of them

I met my son at a brewery in Anaheim this afternoon and it was business as usual. It is a very good, and popular brewery, and was about 3/4 full, which is appropriate for that time of day. I talked to one of the servers who told me their business has not yet fallen off, but they waiting to see what happens tonight. They were also very obviously spraying down tables and stools as people got up.

I hate to admit it but my pandemic kit is from the Ebola days. Probably dont need the tyvek suits or wellies but the gloves, masks and goggles will be used if we see community spread where I live. Full wash/decon station has long been set up. I could look the the medical equivalent of that MOPP suit in about 5 minutes.

Let’s compare notes in one month on April 14.

I’m sure the pentagon is just full of hysterical ninnies who are falling for a deep-state trick to hurt Trump.

(Just like the 100s fake Italian crisis actors pretending to die every day.)

Pentagon Orders All Troops Confined To Base Area, Bans Domestic Travel

As of Friday the Department of Defense issued an unprecedented for all service personnel stationed in the United States, forbidding them from non-operations related travel within the US. This follows earlier this month ‘leave and liberty’ restrictions already imposed for troops stationed in foreign countries.

“‘Failure of Civility’ is a must read...”

“Failure of Civility” is on the bedside along with “Resistance to Tyranny” by Joseph Martino, and of course...”The Preppers Blueprint” by Tess Pennington.

I thought I overpaid for “Failure...”. I was wrong.

Might you be so kind as to add me to your ping list ?

I’ve found that, if one runs out of food but has some TP handy, a little bit of gravy and five minutes in the microwave makes a meal, that, while not nutritious is quite filling.

Do I really need a /S ?

Thanks & hope you are feeling better.

That toilet paper aisle is exactly like our kroger today. Hubs stocked up on sweets while I did the “real” shopping.

Hope you’re feeling better.

I was thinking that TP would make a great thickener for soup.
