Yesterday's thread is here: http://freerepublic.com/focus/chat/3823939/posts?page=1301
There has been talk and expectation of such a collapse for a few years now.
It was never a matter of if but when, and what would trigger it.
This virus was not the scenario that anyone expected to start it.
I’ve tried to point out to people that this is NOT a ‘kill them in a day or two’ Hollywood virus.
From infection to final disease resolution might be a month. Longer if you linger on the ventilator.
US logging will hold strong.
Hey. I think I used to date her!
“No containers means no shipping to distribution centers which means shelves will get bare and stay bare.”
But it was our prepping that crashed the economy, you know.
Domestic products will still be on the shelves and the gaps will hopefully be filled with more domestics replacing Chinese and other imports. It will take some time, though.
Wakeup call.
“The hard core prepper crowd (I raise my hand :-) ) have been discussing this very topic for years and years...The good news is we are in the Internet age, and there is an infinite amount out there to enjoy and learn.”
What these Flubros SHOULD be doing, instead of bitching at us, is figuring out how they’re going to collect and purify water (and yes, it’s all over the Internet...as long as they have power and a connection). For if they cannot do that, they will be forced out of their homes as our supply of clean water starts to dry up (due to reliance on Chinese chemicals and equipment).
For us preppers, we already have it mapped out and have materials in place to do the job...so we have time to discuss other items here.
Well, doing both doubles your risk. So....
One of the first things we bought after katrina was pool shock. (not the kind with algicide!).
Stored in a plastic bucket with lid.
That brings up a question.
I wonder how many of those succumbing had other previous infections that had already compromised their lungs.
Wonder about coal fired plants. I think we may be on one. Sure wish my solar power components didn’t mostly need replacing. I need four golf cart batteries and a new charge controller. $700 or so. It’s only 400 watts but it will run my LED lighting and the deep freezer. Will run cordless phone and dsl modem but only charge one laptop. Can run the tv and stream.

This was the perfect petrie dish with tons of analysis.
Geek out, my FRiend!
“What happens when the warehouses run out of stuff...?”
Well, to me that means we’re out of luck. To the Flubros, new stuff will materialize out of thin air. After all who needs supply lines other than the military!
Publix: Apparently, thieves are stealing the courtesy sanitizer wipes customers use to clean the grocery carts. The dispenser has always been located in the grocery cart vestibule. Now the sanitizer wipes dispenser is located well inside the store, within view of the customer service desk.
You can boost the 35% to torpedo fuel by freezing out the water...
I wouldn’t recommend it, this is the T-Stoff that dissolved more than one Me-163 pilot in his seat...
“The conference today outlined much.”
I believe that the President is moving at the fastest politically feasible pace.
Correct. They did not know what was happening until it was too late.
However, this gave the rest of the country valuable time to prepare more.
The virus is not interested in what is “politically feasible”
just the way it is...
We’ve got 32 MEGA rolls for the four of us. Ought to be good for 2-3 months. Depending on how things go, the girls might just have to each get their own little cloth instead of using 4-5 sheets for a couple of drops of the cleanest bodily excretion we have.
Lookner
The head of the Republican Party, Ronna McDaniel, is now awaiting a coronavirus test result after tests for flu & strep came back negative
“The virus is not interested in what is politically feasible”
Well, I know that, and so does President Trump, I’m sure.
Tell it to Nancy Pelosi.
