President Trump raised fresh questions surrounding his response to the coronavirus on Thursday by saying that Americans in Europe will be tested for coronavirus before they are allowed to board flights and that they will not be allowed to come home if they test positive.
The shocking announcement came after his decision to halt all travel from Europe to the US for 30 days starting from Friday at midnight.
During a press conference with the Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar in the Oval Office, Trump said: 'We are not putting them on planes if they test positive. It is going to be a pretty strong enforcement of quarantine,' he said, without explaining which tests would be used or where the diagnosed cases would then be treated overseas.
It was a direct contradiction to what Pence said on Thursday morning - that 'everyone' can 'come home regardless of their symptoms or what their condition is' and that they would be asked to go under 'voluntary' quarantine after landing back in the US at one of 13 airports designed to handle the outbreak.
Foreign nationals or visa holders without permanent residency will not be allowed back in the US from Friday at midnight, aside from people in the UK and Ireland which have been exempt from the ban.
Trump has not yet explained why they are exempt.

It is a simple question.
Doesn’t matter if the medical stuff is sanctioned or not, Europe, Iran, the US Iran lobby, the Norks, and China are still going to pretend the virus is somehow worse because of sanctions ...not because they care about sick people [they don’t] but because it gives the Europeans an excuse not to renew sanctions.
The hype about the virus is an effort to Katrina-ize it so it can be used to justify normalization with Iran.

There’s a huge difference between acknowledging the actual risk according to known facts and all these magic 8 ball readers and those determined -and succeeding- to damage Trump so much walking dead Biden looks good.
Right now there’s a bigger chance that you can get the virus and never know it than there is of dying from it. Most will endure some level discomfort, what that consists of is determined by your level of health on your best day.

When I heard Trump speaking, if you go by the written or worded transcript may have said what you said he said, but from his demeanor and in the CONTEXT of his speech, I UNDERSTOOD him to ‘mean’ that Americans WOULD be let back in the country, albeit with proper monitoring or quarantine and testing if needed. Pence came accross the same way. There was no distinction between the two in their approach to this in my mind. But yes, if you want to be extremely technical and take a ‘Schiff’ like approach to it....whatever

And of course these interests knew Trump would recognize the hype for what it is and not treat the disease seriously at which point they’d bash him for being callous and uncaring all the way to election day.... but instead he’s treating it as if it is everything it’s advertised to be, calling for all efforts and even going beyond the call of duty to beat it, so their plan A has failed and worse, they can’t really argue against his proposed measures because they have driven the hyperventilating in the first place and to argue against his response to treat it as a pandemic worse than 1918 is to argue against their own shrill storyline. So, they’re working on a Plan B now. Eventually they’ll get to Plan X and blame him for excessive reaction to it just like they eventually got around to a hail Mary pass of blaming Bush for excessive reaction to the Iraqi WMD that they’d hyped for years; but for now they’re still squirming and holding the corona-ball not knowing what play to make. They miscalculated that Trump would react to this in the same way Obama did to SARS and ebola. Instead he can treat it as the Black Plague and the US can certainly use it as practice for such.
Iran is desperate enough to try anything at this point so we can never be too careful.
