Ok...
Then you look at the numbers here and tell us all what you conclude.

Please tell us what the numbers tell you. I’ve only posted well sourced factual case numbers and doubling rate. If that rate changes I’ll post that too, whether it is good or bad news.

So what are your sourced facts that counter these numbers and trends please? Really! Because I’ve been looking for the good news in this situation and am ready to read sourced good news.

What do you think will happen in neighborhoods where 50 people show up and flashloot stores right now? Think it’ll get better or worse when they’re not working, paychecks are suspended, have little groceries, or cash? Think it’ll get better or worse? Common sense tells us what’ll happen and what force may be needed to contain it. We’ve seen how a neighborhood can get out of control...remember, they didn’t contain SC LA...but our memories fade with time to often.

Facts are facts
Math is math
I GUARANTEE the CDC knows this rate. Count on it!

“Hysteria” is an emotional reaction.
My dad used to say “son, never RE-act. Only act”

If your reaction to simple math is reactionary hysteria, I didn’t do that. That’s your reaction and on you. If your family member panics, then be a leader and calm them, be in charge, have a plan, prepare. Help them to prepare too. This is what leaders do.

No to FEMA web site.
They have “get a kit” and “make a plan” pages. Why? Because Americans should be prepared for emergencies. We’re in one now. Don’t go to panic or hysteria. Nobody is suggesting this. Just be prepared, because tough times are coming very fast to the US.

Act.
Prepare
Be ready to care for your loved ones.
That’s acting.
That’s the only thing I’ve suggested

...we can leave the light off in the kitchen and pretend we don’t have a roach problem so the kiddos don’t go into feelings based hysteria...or we can turn the light on and take care of the needed business at hand

Your decision to
Act

Or

React

But there is ABSOLUTELY no need to react with panic or with your claimed hysteria. It’s simple math. Nobody on this form is suggesting what you are falsely accusing.

I will continue to post the numbers (unless JimRob tells me to stop) because we are a forum where truth prevails, not “don’t tell us any more, because somebody might overreact”

Users here seek the truth to make life decisions.

...respectfully

He is among the four new presumptive positive coronavirus cases revealed Tuesday from the state’s lab.

Well at least he wasn't confirmed by the CDC, so he doesn't count against our "official numbers". /s

Right!
This on top of flu and usual medical needs.

Italy becoming overwhelmed at 8,000 cases.

I’m suggesting that our medical system is overwhelmed at 25,000...maybe 30,000?

Would like US physician weigh in on this.

First thing I purchased was pet food.

You don’t know panicking until you look down and there’s a 2.5 foot snake at your bare feet. I just came back in from disposing of the thing and my heart is still pounding, my shoulders hurt and my hands are trembling.

Kitties, “Look, mom, we brought you a present.”

Exactly , the lack of true real meaningful action is irrational .
They are immobilized and setting themselves for real damage.
Bring up the rear-is no way to lead in a crisis .

my comments weren't made in a vacuum but in context of the Sacramento Co., announcement and your repeated use of 'high confidence' from 'greatly increased testing'. Maybe, maybe, if you're a cubicle worker locked to a desk you might know when your coworker was infected, but most people aren't cubicle workers and most Americans have a more active lifestyle than get up, go to work, go home, go to sleep. Coworkers are only one vector of many. So, 'show me' where this 'greatly increased testing' in California is that would justify your defense of the Sacramento Co announcement. Because nobody else sees it. Once again, I fail to see any logic to your argument, the credibility of which you further degrade by accusing the thread of 'panic' 'drama'. Have a nice day.

you said: "14 day isolation puts several dozen health care workers and first responders unable to care for you or your loved ones at each local facility. Now that there is greatly increased COVID-19 testing available, there is likely a high confidence level at +/- 5-7 days wherein a negative test and absence of symptoms equals no infection.

Lookner covering Snohomish (sp?) County near Seattle:

54 tested positive, 17 are hospitalized, 30 are community based—total figures. Ten of these are new cases.

This is _not_ the area with the dead folks from the one nursing home.

Doubling rate forecast

Two days ago there were 475 cases

If the 2-day doubling rate holds consistent as it has since February 28, then by tonight it would be...

950

...we began today with 702 and have 802 at this moment and still 7 hours of more data gather on the West Coast time zone. We’ve added 100 cases less than half way through the day.

It’s just math

Tonight I’ll post the numbers since January 27 again, with updates. We’ll see, but Good Lord let’s hope this rate decreases

The only way to stop the doubling is with mass quarantines, military guards enforcing them.

Everything else just slows it down a little bit, maybe takes a day or two off a month of doubling.

You’re confusing the rate of discovery with the rate of spread.

THE RATE OF SPREAD IS REPORTED AS DOUBLING EVERY 6 DAYS.

The rate of discovery of cases reflects only testing efforts.

Lookner reminds that of the 35 patients that had _not_ been tested (in the WA nursing home with all the deaths), 31 had tested positive yesterday.

Exactly. In no way does it show how fast this thing is really growing.

Hugs to you and your honey.

Can’t believe (yes, I can) they just got around to testing the guy in the hospital but no one else. That’s one way to keep the numbers down.
