But, we now know why states were playing these silly games—they did not have enough lab equipment to process more tests. They had the tests, they just couldn’t process them.

Lisinopril will increase your serum potassium.
The “water pill”, if anything like HCTZ will deplete your potassium. They tend to balance each other.
Tactic: Drop the water pill and eat vegetables. Keep up on the lisinopril.
Regarding the latest Houston area case (the 20 yo woman)...I found this interesting...

They only did tests the Federal CDC would pay them to do.

This seems obvious after the fact.
I heard the CDC debacle was caused by Trump cutting their budget! What a confession of incompetence. How many CDC scientists did it take to create a test kit that works?
Early on that was correct.
But by March 3 they were free to test as many individuals as they could, and then they found out the labs did not enough equipment/supplies to process very many tests.
(Now this is a guess but..) I think that they were scared to blow the whistle on whoever failed to supply them because they didn’t want to alienate the supplier. I guess we will find out whether CDC was supposed to supply them or whether they were supposed to purchase the supplies themselves.
We are still piecing the puzzle together, and those who know aren’t talking, and those who are talking don’t know... ;-)
A cruise ship in Baltimore recently let off a bunch of people who tested positive for the flu. They were not tested for CV tho. Smh.

See..I knew it was complicated. then add weirdo thalessemia..and I just throw my hands in the air and look at it once a year on a blood test to see if potassium looks all right.

Thanks for the post and link. Interesting finding since the kidneys have some of the highest protein expression of ACE2. Proteins remind me of dominoes. You tip one and others fall.
