I am just not feeling it in the air tonight.....
I think Phil Collins is on his deathbed? I guess he won’t be part of this?
You better start doing it right...
November. Won’t we all be dead by then from Corona?
and Steve Hackett...going to see him next week.
He has serious back problems that prevented him from playing the drums for a long time, so that kind of put a dent in his career. He has put out a couple albums in the last decade or so.
For sure, Steve did some good solo work.
Yes he is.
But it’s probably his last shot at it, so it’s now or never.
Drumming takes a toll over the years. Neil Peart basically had to give it up as well, and that was even before he got the cancer that killed him.
He did a little documentary when he was recording that album of Motown covers, and at one point he just had them tape the drumstick to his hand because he could play the beat perfectly well, but he wasn’t able to keep a grip on the stick for a whole take.
Hey, I resemble that!
Oh wow.
I thought he just got tired of music.
There must have been some misunderstanding :)
I was always amazed at how much Gabriel and Collins sounded alike.
"Voyage of the Acolyte" was pretty much Genesis without Banks.
Me too! I’ve seen them 5 times...
First time in Houston in the mid-70’s, at the Sam Houston Coliseum.
Last time in Munich, at the Olympic stadium.
THAT was SUPPOSED To be the “Last” tour. lol
Still the Selling England tour? Saw it last Oct. Made me wonder why I didn’t really like album when it first came out. Love Hackett shows, especially since seeing two in a row in a small club in Nashville a couple years ago. Article says he’s doing a Seconds Out tour later. Will watch for it stateside.
Peter Gabriel, doing his best Mike Ehrmentraut impression.
a lot of people didn’t realize Peter Gabriel had left at first. The difference became more pronounced as time passed and they got much more commercial and less edgy. PG really came into his own and the “So” LP is just a masterpiece. I have 12” single of Red Rain that sounds so good it will make you cry and I still have almost every Genesis album on vinyl.
I still love Gabriel’s first album (the one with Solsbury Hill). “Down the Dolce Vita”, “Humdrum”, “Moribund the Burgermeister”, “Waiting for the Big One”, “Here Comes the Flood”, all classics.
