Facing intense heat, poisonous gasses and molten lava, daredevil Nik Wallenda says there's "little bit more angst" for his highwire walk across one of the most active volcanos in the world.
The stuntman, who's traversed Times Square, the Grand Canyon gorge and Niagara Falls on tightrope, will attempt a 1,800-foot walk over the Masaya Volcano in Nicaragua.
The stunt will mark Wallenda's "longest and highest highwire walk ever attempted," according to ABC, which will air "Volcano Live with Nik Wallenda" as a live two-hour special.

Stop the thread. We have a winner.
It should be legal to destroy/disable such drones and fine the operators.

I’d be fine with the “legal to destroy” part.
Brought to you by Lava Soap!...............
I’m surprised this is being done, since the last few televised tightrope walks did not attract a high number of viewers.
This is a classic circus act, which takes time to perform and a long attention span to appreciate. I’m guessing most people under 40 have never been to a full blown circus and seen the usual acts. Cirque du Soleill specializes in acrobatics, yes, but mostly while close to the floor, nothing like this.
He's been practicing high wire running.....ouch, ouch, ouch
I remember seeing the news of the death of Karl Wallenda, in 1978.
The volcano wants female virgins.

Do you know Biff Pocoroba?
Alex Honnold’s free climb of El Capitan would have to be up there too.
I just get the feeling this isn’t gonna end well. Volcano + 1800 foot tightrope = Intuition.
Stupid is as stupid does.
Don't know him but I met him. I met most of the players at that time.
Did you meet Sugar Bear? His brother was my neighbor for many years.
I don’t remember him, but I was a kid at the time. I remember Dusty Baker, Hank Aaron (have a baseball signed by him), the Niekro brothers...
Jeff Ross is said to be scheduling a roast for Nik, which will be appropriate regardless of the walk’s outcome.
If you fall once with a tether do they make you go back to the beginning or can you just keep going? If they let you keep going then anyone can be a tightrope walker!
Maybe walking on hot coals on the weekends... ouch, ouch, ouch!
Sounds like a Darwin Award candidate.
He needs to really look closely at the risk/reward equation.
