Facing intense heat, poisonous gasses and molten lava, daredevil Nik Wallenda says there's "little bit more angst" for his highwire walk across one of the most active volcanos in the world.
The stuntman, who's traversed Times Square, the Grand Canyon gorge and Niagara Falls on tightrope, will attempt a 1,800-foot walk over the Masaya Volcano in Nicaragua.
The stunt will mark Wallenda's "longest and highest highwire walk ever attempted," according to ABC, which will air "Volcano Live with Nik Wallenda" as a live two-hour special.

What happens if the volcano heats up the wire while he’s on it?
They’ll make a movie, “Nik in the Volcano”.
After 30 or so feet, the hight of a tightrope makes no difference.
too many Walendas have died in performance....hope this is safe
What could possibly go wrong?
Hold my beer and watch this.
We’re having a heat wave...
Feeling angst doesn’t bode well for him. Expect disaster.
I am assuming the broadcast is on some delay so ABC can cut it off it he falls and dies.
A fool and his life are soon parted.
I will not watch. This is nuts.
And Philippe did his walk without a tether, which Nik has used in the past. One of the most amazing feats of human achievement ever.
I saw Karl Wallenda at the old Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. I had a family member who played for the Braves so we went to a lot of games, and 'The Great Wallenda' just happened to be there that night.
That's true, of course. But good luck convincing your brain of that.
Oh jeez...
Don’t do it, Nick, don’t do it! Listen to that inner voice.
One of the greatest movies ever made man on wire documented that feat ( made in 2008 AFTER twin towers were gone.
Watch, some idiot with a drone will buzz him...distracting him and making him fall. Sad, but man, that drone footage, gonna go viral...and society is ALL about viral!! Bring out the drones!!
If he falls in, he’ll be “The Frying Wallenda.”
Drones are a hazard in today’s world. Too many operators don’t bother to think who might be disturbed by their expensive toy. When there were brush fires in Northern Ca. last autumn, I heard about some firefighters who had to stop their attempts to control the blazes, due to drones getting in the way. It should be legal to destroy/disable such drones and fine the operators.
