Hasn't just about everyone in his family died while doing that stuff?
I saw Karl Wallenda at the old Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. I had a family member who played for the Braves so we went to a lot of games, and 'The Great Wallenda' just happened to be there that night.

I’m surprised this is being done, since the last few televised tightrope walks did not attract a high number of viewers.
This is a classic circus act, which takes time to perform and a long attention span to appreciate. I’m guessing most people under 40 have never been to a full blown circus and seen the usual acts. Cirque du Soleill specializes in acrobatics, yes, but mostly while close to the floor, nothing like this.
