Bernie Sanders arrives at Super Tuesday with momentum built through New Hampshire, Iowa and Nevada. Five polls have him beating Donald Trump. But here’s what will actually happen if Sanders is the nominee.
Trump will drown out any substantive discussion or defense of Sander’s (sic) policies by stoking voter paranoia about socialism and communism. He’ll warn America that a Sanders presidency would destroy the economy. He will invoke his mantra that Medicare for all would “force patients to face massive wait times for treatments and destroy access to quality care.” That’s false, of course, but facts don’t matter to a President who has told more than 16,000 lies.
Trump doesn’t even have to lie or invent “facts” to smear Sanders. There are plenty of actual facts he can use. […]
Trump will conflate past and present, reminding voters that the Democratic Socialists of America recently endorsed Sanders for president and that he still calls himself a Democratic Socialist; ipso facto, Sander’s (sic) views haven’t changed. It won’t matter that his socialist affiliations and opinions date back more than 40 years, that he quit the Liberty Union Party in 1977, or that he’s modified his views since, just as it didn’t matter that Barack Obama wasn’t born in Kenya. Bernie will be a dumpster fire of epic proportions. Throughout modern history “socialism” has made inroads during times of economic malaise and strife. It is easier to sell socialism to a miserable populace.
We are enjoying an unprecedented period of prosperity and peace.
Bad timing.
Another consideration - much of Bernie’s popularity is based on his populism and criticism of the elites. Trump used this same message to claim the mantle of championing the working class. He not only stole Bernie’s message, he has fulfilled his promises and made life better for the working class American!
What does this all leave Bernie with? He is facing his last chance for his ideas to win against a massive wave of prosperity and an opponent who has taken his most popular shtick.
There’d barely be any functional difference between a Sanders and Biden presidency except Bernie is honest about who and what he is. That’s why I voted for him in Virginia today: so that we can finally have an honest debate.
One can argue either way of which opponent would be easier to beat, but if Trump the Magnificent can’t beat a straight-up communist, the republic is finished and we’re better off knowing that now.

Rasmussen had a head to head poll last week among likely voters and Trump completely smokes him.
In his case, likely a one cylinder, like them old time water pumps, leaking oil, vibrating the mounts loose due to being out of tune, running too rich, blowing smoke out the exhaust, just like him.
Hate to break it to you, but it isn't paranoia if the fear is real. This idiot would have us believe that the threat isn't real.
