“He said he suspects the capability of long-distance transmission with COVID-19 will be connected to source strength, or how symptomatic a person is.”
Source please for that claim
I have a colleague who was in Hong Kong during SARS. She says the women there are sewing masks now. Apparently according to her friends there the government is only giving out 2 masks per week.
So while we here think they have all the masks...they don’t. They get 2 per week.
There are patterns available online how to make a mask. Once you understand it is about reducing the viral load you will recognize the limitations of whatever PPE you have.
A properly fitting surgical mask has the ability to reduce the viral load by 80%. A n-95 mask is shown to only reduce the load 90-95%. 10% difference.
All over the mall. And on a Saturday. SMH.

China has posited that the high rate of mortality in Wuhan was prior exposure to SARS. Im not sure if Italy was involved with the SARS, but theyre a good test of that Chinese claim.

NBA - no more high fiving fans or signing autographs.
The nursing home - It has been common sense for decades to at least put on a pair of gloves. Some didn’t even do that. That has zero to do with them saying they couldn’t wear PPE because CDC hasn’t declared it a pandemic. Senseless.
Yep, I’ve been looking at Russia, too. Of course, they must have cases. They are nothing but liars. They took a look at China and Italy and don’t want flights to stop. They don’t care about peoples’ lives. It’s all about the money.
Dogone it. I must be doing something wrong with some of these articles and links. This is the second time my paragraphs show in the preview, but not in the final product.
HLN reporting just now the San Antonio mayor told Lackland to keep the folks longer to test more. They were supposed to be let out yesterday. A judge over ruled the mayor so they may get out today.
Excuse me, but if they were around the mall woman, then they need to restart the clock and stay another 14 days. And we all know it isn’t if they were around her because we know they were. In the game room, watching tv, zumba classes and that ridiculous meal buffet with community serving spoons.
>>>US Judge for the Western District of Texas, Xavier Rodriguez, (Republican appointed by George Bush in 2003) has ruled against the City of San Antonio/ Bexar County to extend the quarantine of the Coronavirus evacuees to 28 days, and to not release evacuees with a pending third test.
The Judge said that San Antonio could not force _the Feds_ to extend it to 28-days.
_San Antonio_ could extend the quarantine on the evacuees after the Feds release them on it’s own dime and public resources.
Federalism you know.
And the CDC would rather a lot of _other people_ die than admit they are wrong on 14-day quarantine
Awful. At first they said they had no idea.
I agree on doing whatever one can do to reduce the load. But be careful - the N95 mask is rated to 0.3 microns. When an infected person breathes or coughs, about 46% of the particles is larger than 0.4 microns. (I think my previous post has that article)
So the N95 mask probably is only reducing the load by 50% or so. Better than nothing. And perhaps if one can even reduce the load by 50% that is enough to help a lot.
The other part is that the mask keeps one from touching their face.
I was out today without a mask (Seattle area). Walking down the aisle and some guy coughed without covering his mouth. Right near the bag of potato chips I was going to grab! (I got another brand!)
I would have felt a bit better with a mask on!
Tell the insurance companies to take their problem to China.
Right. The flu strain in that place could do the same thing. Though this corona virus appears to spread easier and stay hidden longer which makes me wonder if it is a chinese weapon or at least a research virus that got out unplanned.
Some people are not well-versed in courtesy.
Guarantee the ladies wadded up the sheets against their chests inches below their mouths, noses and eyes and carried them back in to hand to the laundry staff who also gathered the sheets to their chest area right under their faces. Then there’s the question if the washing machines and dryers will kill the virus. It’s been said regular washing won’t do it.
