Some good news:
Scott Gottlieb, MD
@ScottGottliebMD
Each lab can do about 100 tests a day, which means substantial capacity is coming on line. The key statistic is daily capacity not just total amount of reagents available. Access will turn on how many tests can be run a day so the key is getting more labs going.

As of tonight, there are 31 #PublicHealth laboratories across the country able to test for #coronavirus with 10 more expected over the rest of the weekend. Then next week @CDCgov sends more test kits & well have 100+ labs ready.
They did NOT isolate them, they could have visitors in the hospital, even when they were ill.. Maybe it varied in different states.
This guy gets into an in depth discussion of many aspects of the coronavirus—just taped today:

Bottom line—there are many public officials in Europe and the US giving incorrect advice—and we are in triage mode already.
Testing is too little, too late—it will just confirm that the virus is out of control around the world.
You’re welcome!
I guess I should add the good news—the video discusses evidence that warm weather will stop the virus.
Details regarding the earlier cases (sorry if already posted)
SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. The Snohomish Health District has received notice of a new case of COVID-19. The presumptive positive test result came back from the State Public Health Laboratory, bringing the total number of cases in Snohomish County to four. The District has also just learned that one of its cases previously reported has sadly passed away.
New case information:
A female in her 40s, currently hospitalized with underlying health conditions.
Updated case information:
Previously announced male in his 40s hospitalized at EvergreenHealth in Kirkland has died. The patient was a Snohomish County resident. He was not an employee at LifeCare. He did have underlying conditions. No additional details are available at this time.
Previously announced cases:
Original case in January, fully recovered
Student at Jackson High School announced Friday, isolating at home
The Health District is leading the effort to as quickly as possible identify close contacts of the new confirmed case. At this time, it appears to be another case of community transmission.
How the public can help:
Do not go to the emergency room unless essential. Emergency rooms need to be able to serve those with the most critical needs.
Healthcare providers and employers should not be referring individuals to the Snohomish Health District. We are not a healthcare facility. The District will coordinate with healthcare providers to determine if testing requests met criteria.
Healthcare providers should not be sending patients to the hospital unless they meet hospital admissions criteria. Providers should refer to health alerts being sent for clinician guidance

No, they didn't quarantine. But the one in west Texas allowed more than adult visitors. My grandfather recovered but while he was at the Sanatorium, near San Angelo IIRC, my mom visited her daddy when she was 6-7 years old. I grew up hearing stories of Pepaw in the TB Sanatorium. But I found a photo of mom with my grandparents when cleaning out the GP's house after their death. The 3 of them were in a hospital corridor, he was in a bathrobe and Mom and Grama appeared to be in "Sunday go-ta-meetin" clothes. When I asked mom about it she told me about those visits, how tough they were for her as a little girl, for the first time.
“19/25 firefighters who responded to the nursing home here show symptoms and are now in isolation.”
Very high R naught if true.
And these are young, healthy people.
He also discusses the tradeoffs with no good solutions—quarantine vs economy with both affecting hospital operations.

That was exactly my thought too.
I still dont understand why 25 of them were deployed there, and evidently with either the wrong PPE or none at all.
Things are horrible over there.
I do feel sorry for the regular Iranian people...but not for the overlords who run the country.

No cases REPORTED in Russia.
They are bigger liars than the Chinese.

“I still dont understand why 25 of them were deployed there”
They took about 5 to hospital. Five different ambulances.
Add in a few bosses, a little overtime and the next thing you know you have 25.
