>>>US Judge for the Western District of Texas, Xavier Rodriguez, (Republican appointed by George Bush in 2003) has ruled against the City of San Antonio/ Bexar County to extend the quarantine of the Coronavirus evacuees to 28 days, and to not release evacuees with a pending third test.

The Judge said that San Antonio could not force _the Feds_ to extend it to 28-days.

_San Antonio_ could extend the quarantine on the evacuees after the Feds release them on it’s own dime and public resources.

Federalism you know.

And the CDC would rather a lot of _other people_ die than admit they are wrong on 14-day quarantine

Every quarantine attempt in the USA is going to quickly dissolve in a mesh of competing court orders. Quarantine isn’t a viable strategy in any country where dissenters can’t be instantly shot.

it’s an interesting dilemma

These folks are Princess cruisers. So they had 14 days or more on the Princess, another 15 now days at Lackland. That’s a month.

Most people hyperalerted to the disease such as the cruisers are, are self- concerned enough to tough out a 30 day quarantine. But if you’re going to add another 7 or 14 days to that, now we’re talking serious disruption to their lives. Who’s watching their homes, or their pets, or children, their mailbox? Who’s mowing the lawn, picking up the sunday paper off the driveway and watering the shrubs? Do they have a job to go back to? How much as this drained their savings? Who’s going to compensate them for another 7 to 14 days of not being able to earn?

What about the psychological aspects of living bare-bones for a month or longer without many comfort items? Or human touch? Of not being trusted to continue a month-long quarantine in their own homes? Of being treated as a walking virus instead of human beings that are our fellow citizens?

Two negatives more than 24-hours apart was the standard for ‘clear’ until it suddenly wasn’t. The first rotation of quarantines from Wuhan were released after 14 days and 2 clears and they have no relapses to date. But now it’s 3 negatives. Are two negatives and one positive indicative of identifying a super-spreader? What if it becomes 4 or 6 weeks? How do we handle long-term quarantines? How do the quarantined handle that emotionally speaking?
