“Of those, 7 were imported from Italy, according to local officials”
That’s funny right there, I don’t care who you are.

E #China’s Zhejiang Province confirmed 7 new imported #coronavirus cases from Italy.
Info on the patients:
returned from Italy
worked at the same restaurant
close contacts of the first patient returning from Italy to Zhejiang
no travel history to #Wuhan
“Wait until this spreads like wildfire through the West Coast homeless camps.”
Hannity had a guy on tonight who’s from the Seattle area. He and Hannity brought up the same thing.
Scary because it would be really hard to try to contain these people and/or treat them.
Agreed. Where I live, I don't see any shortages. That certainly is a product of how close confirmed cases are to an area. I agree with the LT - the economic repercussions of this are going to be substantial. I believe China's position as an economic superpower will be under strain as businesses consider the lost revenue when parts, sub-assemblies, etc that are made in China are delayed due to the prolonged Chinese COVID-19 recovery.
We have been quietly purchasing more of supplies, which we normally do in the Spring anyways. I always go in after work, which is at night and there are few people in the stores.
One thing I see on Amazon is masks that state they are N95, but I am not so sure. The write-up for the mask description is in poorly constructed sentences that suggest the use of Google Translate, etc.
Prices on the good N95 with cooling device are way up.

“How many people have caught this virus and never even knew they had it because they died right away?”
There, fixed.
Well, maybe Laz. But not us.
I factually know almost nothing directly. I do filter a lot of news. I have done it professionally for a long time. no system is perfect but I can usually find something worth actually reading towards my ends vs. skip skip skip. I make mistakes.
it is crazy contagious whether aerosolized or not. not holding my breath for the cdc to chime in here. the protein spike really is a devious piece of art in terms of facilitating infection with a relatively small viral exposure. hope we can agree it is very contagious regardless of aerosolization.
the ‘dont wear a mask’ thing is quite orwellian. we dont have enough masks so to make you feel better about not having one - they won’t help anyway. obv. having everyone in a mask would be ideal. asymptomatic carriers would spread a lot less. oh well.
not sure what fema is about. they did such a good job in katrina, looking fwd to them here (not).
we won’t get good info from the CDC in a timely fashion. they are reactive by nature and their priority isn’t giving us the best info to protect our health, individually. we have no choice but to dare to read 3rd party reports (often foreign case reports) to try to sort out what might be going on.
has a govt. md talked about possible annual epidemics yet? does that mean we shouldn’t? credible virologists say they don’t see why there shouldn’t be annual element here. this is a terribly concerning point beyond the current crisis. it is almost unthinkable in the implications.
a lot of talk about vaccine, but I think some of it is just give the public something to grab on to in a situation where by definition you feel completely helpless. hopefully we do get some meds that control the virus’ ability to replicate at not too high a cost to our bodies.
She could be responsible for the deaths of people.
How utterly selfish.
everything is a narrative. soon they will have NO domestic cases and all cases will be imports.
Countries that feel like they are going down, wont go down alone.
Its stupid. But war games are like that.
That is exactly my point. People hanging hopes on the arrival of warm weather to extinguish the virus are chasing a false hope. Modern societies don't run around half naked in high heat and humidity. They seek refuge in exactly the right environment to keep the virus viable.
but the public relations is a major part of the reason for partial containment.
South Korea has more than doubled since Friday. Italy has more than tripled. Iran has almost quadrupled. The United States has increased by 75%. Japan has increased 20%.

Re: 458 - No, it was a good article for Zero Hedge. Their stuff needs to be closely scrutinized anyways. I’m not sure we will see 2 million new cases per day but we shall see.
