In looking more closely it appears the medics are the young men seen through the vehicle window. Googles or safety glasses, a too-loose fitting mask and a disposable gown worn loosely over their dark uniform.

“They will be screaming for a bailout no doubt.”

Act of God.

Per your recommendation to get sun when the elevation is above 50 degrees, that occurs by March 21 in Pocatello at high noon. I'm reminded of my friend in Indiana who was perplexed at blue skies, sunshine and -14F ambient. Going shirtless in Pocatello starts becoming an option in late May.

A lot of my clients are like you. Have a home base but do extensive travel still.

Yes. It is a hit. We will get through it, but it is going to be PBJ sandwiches for a few months afterwards.

“If we’re all gonna die, does this mean I can start abusing my liver again?”

After a long dry spell, and after the realization last night that containment is no longer possible, I had a couple of whiskys.

And I don’t regret it.

your take on likely case?

(I have a range of ‘takes’ but like to see if others arriving at something more fit for a stephen king novel as well)

all kinds of industries will ask for and probably get bailouts within some parameters. I was thinking airlines first and foremost - they are very leveraged and will BK otherwise in pretty short order.

this is going to singularly change how the federal government is involved in private business.

I just realized that there’s so much else effed up with me, that bug may just pass me by on the shoulder of the road out of self-preservation.

people pass so much of their time in low-humidity ac environments now.

even if you are in 100 degree weather area, you are probably in 70s most of your day no matter where you go. parking lots are the major exception....

God had nothing to do with a designer virus. They have been living with these bats for thousands of years. We are seeing new viral strains every couple years now. Why ? What changed with the bats ?

If it's like a very mild flu season in the US then it will infect 5% of the population, or 1,850,000.

But I think it spreads a lot easier than the flu. So I'm guessing worst flu season ever. A bad flu season is 20%. So I'll go 30% or 111,000,000. But either way IF nothing changes either of those numbers will crash our health care system.

Best case: Very low and the United States goes into World War 2 production mode and makes a whole bunch of medical equipment in a very short amount of time.

I’m of the mind that it doesn’t really matter where it came from anymore.

Makes me mad, you know the money was there for preparedness. Did the state spend it on some transgender outreach?

That is bad actually. Preexisting conditions amplify the lethality. 10.5 % if you have any kind of heart disease. Good thing CVD is not an epidemic in America....oh...wait....

On today’s press conference in Washington state they were going on-and-on about the testing and tracking other people down. By the end of the week I’m guessing they will have the same attitude as you. It’s a little late in the game to worry about such things.
