In regards to your statement on the VA hospitals handling something like the Corona Virus, please find some one to post some Baghdad Bob meme that says something like “Everything is Ok here” or “Nothing to see here, Please move on”
I attempted to post a meme picture but couldn’t figure it out.
It’s incomprehensible to me that some politicians want to ‘make hay’ out of something like this. They should be getting on-board the fight against it - and I hope that their constituents are watching.

Trump and his team are acting strategically, while the Dem politicians are flapping their gums and revelling in their air time.

I thought DJT started off very weak - he was obviously not prepared as well as he should have been, and came across as “winging it” vs giving clear, compelling, confident points. (I realize he just got back from a very long trip and probably did far better than I could under that circumstance, but maybe he should have delayed a bit till he was more rested if so..)
He got much better as things went on, however - especially when attacking Pelosi and Schumer.
Also didn’t like how he answered the question about putting more travel bans in place..he got asked twice, pretty directly, and dodged both times. It’s simple - if country X has the virus, close the damned door and end the flights coming from that country - just like he did with China. So, why won’t he do that w/S. Korea, Iran, etc?!
Net, markets didn’t seem to get the confidence that they were looking for as futures were down pretty hard red by the end of the presser..
Definitely a very tough situation..but to those who don’t seem to recognize just how serious this may potentially be, it has a death rate AT LEAST 20X that of the common flu (possibly more), and can spread like wildfire because those who are asymptomatic can still spread it. I don’t think we’ve seen anything like that in ~100 years, and it could kill a very large number of people. Let’s pray it doesn’t.
Yes, there are a lot of things that could be making that number higher than the disease itself would kill under “normal” circumstances, including, among many others:
1. The Chinese health care system is clearly overwhelmed.
2. Genetics.
3. The availability of ventilators and medications.
4. Experience in treating the disease.
I expect that number will improve as the epidemic progresses. Still, it’s the best number we have so far to describe how serious the disease is if you get it.
You guys (the ardent, “it can’t happen here”) people amuse me. I has already happened. It continues to happen. Pandemics , while rare, happen multiple times in our lifetimes.
Before you start suggesting this is nothing, you must preface it by saying you don’t give a fu$k about the rest of the world. Because it’s there. And it’s not contained. And a lot of people are not only dying, they are not going to work.
And, it’s here. Trump just inoculated himself against blame. Not with a vaccine, but with half truths and happy talk.
It’s here. And it’s probably in your town. It’s in mine. And the town next to mine. But they haven’t shown up on any media lists.

That’s a good word. I was simply saying we have some built in “spaces” that keep us from sharing illnesses in the same way they would in China (or Korea for that matter).
The weather should be in our favor....only one case in Latin America where it is summer, and that one has contact trace to Italy if I am not mistaken.
