Were OK now, but officials at Coca-Cola said if the coronavirus continues to spread, there could be an impact on how much Diet Coke and other low-cal drinks are available.
The sugar alternatives Coke uses in Diet Coke and its other zero-sugar drinks have been delayed, the company said in its annual report released Monday, CNN reported.
But the good news is, the company has started its contingency supply plans to cover the short-term impact.
However, we may see tighter supplies of some of these ingredients in the longer term should production or export operations in China deteriorate, Coke said in the filing, according to CNN.
The ingredient that could be impacted by the virus is sucralose, also known as Splenda, which is used in not only in some Diet Coke variants, but also Powerade Zero. It is sourced from suppliers in both the US and in China, CNN reported. But the company did not specify what exactly could be delayed.

In Central America Coke is still made with pure cane sugar.......That’s the only place I drank Coke
Well....thats it then. The Apocalypse has arrived.
Maybe poor chemical safety is the key to longevity?
It's pretty clear that the ONLY thing that can tank Trump, aside from Dem fraud, is a bad economy. From 1900-1960, the only Presidents to lose re-election were Hoover in 1932 (GDP was down that year) and Taft in 1912 (split ticket and the economy wasn't strong). Every other President up for re-election had a growing economy and, in turn, they won. From 1960-today...Ford, Bush, and Carter lost their re-election (yes, I know Ford wasn't up for re-election but work with me) when they had a bad economy or recession. Every other President won re-election and, not surprisingly, their respective re-election economies were on the upswing and or mend.
I think it's possible to be worried about coronavirus and be a card-carrying Deplorable. It's not like China is ruled by a transparent government, there have been a few oops moments Stateside, and there so much information AND misinformation it can be hard to keep track of which side is up.
The problem arises when a Deplorable's natural distrust of the govt is manipulated in a judo move to derail Trump. And, to be fair, support only goes so far: if it's a tossup between protecting one's family and defending the President, most people will side with their family.
Let's be honest: stocking up on food and staples isn't such a bad idea even if a Mainland China type of situation coming to America is hard to fathom.
That said, there are likely elements in America and the Deep State that are chatting up a pandemic to sweep up normally supportive of Trump folks, and to bring about a recession and the demise of Trump.
Anything shipped in from China is potentially contaminated. What are we doing to prevent that from causing infections here?
And it’s usually a 32oz big gulp of diet soda
Nothing.
No Diet Coke, riots in the streets, baby.
Real question: what is the difference between Tab and Diet Coke? Is it saccharine vs. Aspartame?
Yes.
Quick! Change the formula, Coke Guys! That’ll solve ALL of your problems! Consumers just LOVED that last time you tried it!
*SIMCM* - Snorting Inside My Coronavirus Mask
Oh noze - since my main beverage of choice is water, I can sit on my high horse and say, “Who really cares?”
Of course the real concern is that so many supply lines have been disrupted that it is affecting a lot of other nations (Globalism rears it’s ugly head) - and so many of our medicines are “assembled in China”...
Coke products use ASPARTAME.
I used to drink one Diet Coke a day. The last case I bought I started feeling dizzy and nauseous after drinking. It finally made me violently sick one day after a sip.
I stopped drinking Diet Coke.
I now drink Diet Rite made with Splenda. We will see what happens.....
Not only that.... an argument could be made for the benefit of smoking.
Oh no.
The world is ending!!!!!!
Sheesh...
I don’t know who ever would want to drink that crap in the first place.
Then stock up on coffee.
I hear it freezes well if stored in airtight containers, like canning jars.
Beans keep better and longer, too.
Anyone who can drink that stuff knows your taste buds have died.
The tap water is good here.
The jury actually bought that? ;)
