A woman is now facing felony charges after resisting arrest and biting a deputy Friday, according to the Flagler County Sheriffs Office.
Officers responded to a call in Palm Coast in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies met with Cherie Saunders, 38 in her driveway with her make-up smeared, no shoes, slurred speech and a heavy scent of alcohol coming from her, according to deputies.
During the investigation, deputies say they determined that Saunders had slapped a male resident inside the home. When deputies were trying to resolve the situation, she became argumentative and would not cooperate with deputies.
According to FCSO, she approached a deputy in a threatening manner and began kicking and screaming when officers attempted to secure her in handcuffs.
Bodycam footage from the situation shows the struggle between the officers and Saunders.
Towards the end of the video, you can see Saunders bite a deputys right calf and refuse to release her bite until another deputy was able to free her grip.
ccording to FCSO, the bite resulted in a two-inch mark which immediately showed broken skin, swelling and bruising. Moments later, the deputy began to feel ill and passed out momentarily. He was transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation.
Rather than let us handle the investigation in a civil manner, this woman actively fought our deputies and bit one deputy resulting in a trip to the hospital, Sheriff Rick Staly said. If you attack my deputies you will not win and you will go to the Green Roof Inn facing serious charges. This is a prime example of how dangerous domestic violence calls are for our deputies to handle. Thankfully the deputy was not seriously injured by her actions.
Saunders was arrested and charged with Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Domestic Battery, Resisting an Officer with Violence. On the way to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility for booking, Saunders vomited in the patrol vehicle. It was determined that she would need to be medically cleared by the hospital prior to booking due to her level of intoxication. She was released from jail after posting a $5,000.00 bond.
The best part is always buried at the end of the story.
I figured she bit him somewhere else.
No big surprise but she was charged with resisting an officer in 2018.
Hes going to have to claim that to preserve any remaining dignity.
If she was on South Park shed have to say Im white trash and Im in trouble before being hauled away.
Her crazy is showing. (I’ve seen that look before)
Gotta say, a little Makeup and good Hair Style and that Gal would be pretty Cute.
She looks kind of like that Moonbat Actress Julianne Moore.
I slammed my finger in a door once.
I fell to the ground and nearly fainted.
It was a hard wooden front door and my nail ended up completely falling off later on.
I could see a 2 inch bite where the person isn’t letting go lead to a fainting.
Not likely, but definitely possible.
just wait till he comes up against some real ankle biters, he’ll not wake up for a month
The officer should get tested for rabies!
“her make-up smeared”
Disappointing that they let her wash her face before the mugshot...
She’s a Bunny Boiler.
” and passed out momentarily.”
The deputy said he felt like he might. When directly asked by another, the footage ends.
I took a spill on a three step stair in my garage and bent my knee in a way nature did not make it to bend. I passed out before reaching the floor but recovered awareness quickly. That pain was ... a knockout.
She looks like Julianne Moore.......................
GMTA!...................
That sounds pretty horrifying...
Reminds me of the Joe Theismann injury at the hands of lawrence taylor.
And hones...if someone had filmed your incident...it probably would make folks nauseous to watch.
I’m picturing it now and getting faint.
I almost fainted once, I stood up too quickly.
(Someone said “I got an extra tamale here, anybody want it?”)
