They were both awful. Algerian Very tannic with vomit aftertaste. Moroccan was lighter bodied with some cocoa and dust on the finish. Back when Algeria was a French colony, it was a huge exporter of wine back to France, mostly for the low end bum wine/tavern market.

Sorry to hear it. I would think the climate there might be pretty good for grapes.

Problem is lack of domestic demand for the obvious reason and the difficulty in commanding sufficient pricing in an overcrowded export market.
In the Muslim world, Turkey and Lebanon have some good reds and roses, although they are difficult to find here.

Spain and Argentina are my go-to Reds when I need to treat myself or impress a guest. ;)

I’ve made Dandelion Wine a few times through the years.
It can be awful if FIL skimped on the oranges and lemons in the recipe.
Which really makes no sense at all because who could AFFORD lemons and oranges if they only had Dandelions to work with in the first place? ;)

Hey! I’m a Case Club Member at BOTH Botham (which is less than 20 minutes from my farm) and Wollersheim Wineries.
I guess I should’ve pimped Wisconsin Wines, too. I pimped some Wisconsin Beers, though, LOL!
My Bad! :)

Neither has a Red I’m crazy about, but I could drink Wollersheim’s ‘Prairie Fume’ all day, as well as Botham’s, ‘Driftless.’

One of my fave wine industry stories goes back to the 1950s, when one of the Gallo Brothers was driving with a potential vendor. While talking about how big the Gallo wine company was, the vendor seemed doubtful. Seeing this, Gallo had the driver stop by a bunch of winos in the street:
Hey boys, whats the word? Winos: Thunderbird!!!!!
Apocryphal story that might be true.

FIL was an ‘experimenter’. He tried making wine out of anything available.
Some of them were very good - but all very strong :-)

Portland news was blaming Trump’s tariffs for people having to pay more for their wine and possibly not even getting some wines. The SOB’s made it sound like it was going to hurt Oregon wineries. Dirty rotten fake news Portland.

“Because its not Keto? Liquor is Quicker? “
Those.
Whiskey with a splash of water or on the rocks is as low carb as drinking gets.
And the vodka/gin martinis.
Girls like the vodka “martinis”...shot of vodka and a splash of cranberry...and bam...their panties fall off.
But to be serious, it’s the KETO craze.
