Yeah, that would be the last time my child entered a public school.

I saw ‘Florida’ and stopped reading. It should be excised from the continent like an appendix gone septic. Shame, too. The people there are crazed beyond redemption, but the beaches are beautiful. I had one damn near kill me - with premeditated malice - driving down I-10, but we made it to St. Augustine intact.

Government school is child abuse.

The other children who have had to deal with this psycho kid are the ones who have been abused.

MAYBE some of my daughter's tantrums happened at school and nobody ever informed me, but wow, she threw some incredible ones in her time (she's since grown to be a great woman.) There was one which she threw where I tossed her over my shoulder, took her from the powwow grounds to the SUV in the parking lot where she could cool off (and had a visit from tribal authorities to find out if everything was fine.)

Kids are kids; if they had complete control over their emotions, they'd not be considered kids. Officer saw she'd calmed down, saw there was nothing serious (other than a complaining by my daughter about how I'd been explaining over and over again what she did wrong and to beg the officer to make me stop...he laughed.)

More than a few times during her pre-teen years, she begged me to just spank her rather than just explaining everything calmly and rationally. She felt (and I somewhat agree) that it was probably crueler for all that calm reaction rather than a quick swat to the southbound side of the northbound child.

Had she thrown a fit like she did at Pasadena Powwow or Pechanga in school and the school committed her for 48 or 72 hours.. I'd understand it. Those were some extremely violent reactions and both times it literally took tossing her over the shoulder and putting her in an isolated space so she could regain her control.

Considering our insane laws, our over litigious citizenry, honestly, can't blame the school in this case. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Least they have something to back things up with, though if she was still acting out when she reached the ward, that's of extreme concern in my opinion (and pretty much unfit for public school... Oh, right, that's a dirty phrase now, everyone gets mainstreamed...)

Yeah, that would be the last time my child entered a public school.

Think about the other children in that class who have been hurt by this out of control kid. If your child behaved this way and you took your child out of this school the other parents would be thrilled.

Agree completely. A child that age can inflict all kinds of damage.

Because of our ‘it takes a village laws’ expulsion and suspension for under 10 year olds is pretty much forbidden, lest it might inadvertently affect darker skinned children more often. This is being drastically expanded to include every single school out there - hit a teacher, get told no, and that’s the sum total the punishment that liberals are seeking.

Rational thought’s out the window.

Really disturbed by the schools abuse of power.

On a positive note, maybe the girl has learned a valuable lesson and will get her act together

This kid learned a valuable lesson. She learned that she can act out, physically attack teachers and throw chairs around and nothing will happen to her. I would not want a child of mine in a classroom with her.

I’m wondering if this out of control child is a sociopath. She was quite calm and sweet when the police came to take her away and she thought she was going to jail. The next incident will be worse.

Did she ask for more soup? I’ve seen this before. Don’t feed them meat. Mr. Bumble knows how to handle this.

Anyone who is still voting for the democrats is an enabler of evil. They have been going on this path for more than thirty years, it just keeps getting more and more scary.

Sending the kid to a hospital was extreme but that is where our information fades into the sensationalism of the story.

Was she a risk to herself or others? Did she inflict physical damage on anyone in the school? Did her parent(s) refuse to deal with recommended treatment prior to this?

One little understood fact is that students in special ed have advocates assigned to them. The advocate's job is to serve the child and the family, not the school district. Where is there a mention of this? It is unlikely that a drastic action like this case would take place without the knowledge of the advocate, and the consent.

We don't know yet, based on the story, but the answers will come out in about a week. That is how the media works with this kind of story.
