The other two are duds who were on this week. Ken whats his name and the other guy. Or maybe Rush is back today.
It was previously announced, Rush will be back today. OTOH, if he’s getting chemo or radiation, it is really hard to promise you’ll be well enough for anything.
I do enjoy Steyn but I am glad there is a bullpen of other hosts around since we may be missing Rush a lot in the near future.
From somewhere, he’ll need to find a semi-permanent guest host who can take Rush’s gig on an ongoing basis and to be available at a moment’s notice. I would love to hear Bo Snerdley speak more and enjoyed Walter Williams in small doses.
Rush has given the chair to some real bombs in the past, including Prissy Chrissy Mathews. Three hours of that and you’ll be begging for Todd Herman.
Glad you're still with us. :-)
Don Trump Jr. mentioned last night on Laura’s show that we all knew who the Whistle-blower was in the Clinton impeachment. I am still laughing at that one.
Don't forget Eric "The Red" Erickson guest hosted many times...
I don't buy the second-hand-smoke argument either.
I grew up in a household in which both parents smoked, until I was a teenager. No lung cancer, at least not yet.
On the other hand, there was a story in the local paper some years ago about a woman who died of lung cancer in a small, country town south of where I lived. She never smoked, avoided people who did, was a health fanatic, all natural foods her whole life.
Smoking is a bad thing, but it's not the worst bad thing.
Praying that Rush recovers and has another ten year run. Just like with Trump, someday Rush will be gone. I wonder if the EIB network continues? Would Steyn be the heir apparent?
He’s supposed to be back today, but I agree that Mark Steyn is the best substitute host.
That's like asking if the Tonight show would continue w/o Johnny Carson, in my view it didn't.
Thank you. Very kind of you to say so.
Smoking is a risk factor for lung cancer, but that doesn’t mean only smokers get lung cancer.
The hoax of second hand smoke “science” was analyzed by Michael Crichton in a series of essays that exposed the junk science for the hysteria it was.
Michael Crichton was an MD as well as a writer.
Chris Mathews was saner back then, early to mid 90s when I heard him sub a few times for Rush. Mathews past subbing is kind of a shock, but politics was not so polarized and visceral back then.
Yes, I am an admirer of Michael Crichton. I recall the story he told of being in the scrub room, fully gowned and masked, and overhearing two other surgeons talking about his first book, The Andromeda Strain. They didn't realize he was there. What a moment that must have been for him!
He was extremely intelligent, and while perhaps not exactly a conservative in the sense of Rush Limbaugh or Mark Levin, I think his great intellect and intellectual honesty caused him to hew to the conservative side, so to speak, and to use a figure of speech I haven't heard in a long time.
My aunt died of lung cancer few years ago, never smoked.
She did test positive for a certain gene and wouldve been able to receive targeted therapy via clinical trial but cancer spread..she caught the flu, then had a stroke and passed within 3mos. When she was first diagnosed, the doctors were excited and optimistic because she was candidate for the targeted therapy but she never made it past radiation.
It was so sad, she went so fast.
Small cell lung cancer
I really hope Rush is back today! I’m waiting with bated breath.
And my 2 cents: I don’t think this is the time to admonish Rush for cigars or cigs or anything else. He is, no doubt, painfully aware. I had the displeasure to tell two acquaintances about such a cancer of another acquaintance; anyway, one reacted with sincere sorrow, while the other, supposedly a friend, said, “Well, no surprise.”
It told me a lot about them.
Chrome... trailer hitch.
I saw that! It was hilarious! You could tell Laura was shocked as well LOL.
Ironic, but a few months ago Rush signed a 4 year contract. Even if he wanted to retire to New Zealand, my take is Rush felt obligated to help Trump get re-elected and help Trump in his second term. Rush is having a ball supporting Trump. On air laughs all the time at the latest Trump hi-jinx. And twitter insults. Rush liked Bush Jr. but the laughs were few. Rush loves that Trump is combative, pugnacious, fights back and is always rough and ready to mix it up with the Dems.
At the Trump acquittal victory press conference yesterday, he was downright vicious to Schiff and Pelosi. Boy did he unload!
Yes, I couldn't help but notice that also. And his line about being "surrounded by billowing clouds of aromatic second- and third-hand smoke."
