I smoked them and I inhaled.

Used recovery from cancer surgery to quit them. That was 14 years ago.

No, it wasn't lung cancer. But I kept thinking of a bumper sticker I saw somewhere: Cancer Cures Smoking. That helped me stay the course.

Recovering from surgery pretty much killed my desire for nicotine. By the time I was recovered, I was over the worst of the withdrawal period.

I have read that nicotine intake (via cigars in Rush's case) can help any cancer to grow. True or not? But I have read this.

I am very glad you recovered and quit smoking.

Although we should always be skeptical of scientific literature on the subject of smoking (the second hand smoke claims are, I believe, a hoax on the level of climate change) it is obviously true that smoking is a very real risk for lung cancer.

I have also read (and again, keeping skepticism in mind) that smoking is a risk factor for other cancers, many other cancers, not just lung cancer.

Anyway, again, glad you’re ok.
