He’s 9 cents short of a dime. They ought to just play the music tracks from when the band performed at it’s best and tell the band to stay home and take a nap. Problem solved.

"I was wrong in my editing. Brian is not suing the group. He set up a petition to force the group from playing at the convention. He has no legal basis to stop the group."
That makes more sense. I thought Mike Love had the rights to tour as the Beach Boys and sing their songs. He has been for a long time now.

Is Wilson protesting the hunting convention or the fact that Trump Jr. will be there? I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a vegetarian.
To: Kriggerel
Also this appears to be about hunting
not specifically about Donald Trump Junior (who is the speaker)
and the petition was not started by Brian Wilson
I dont even know if Brian internets
But the MSN website has it in their daily headlined

As I read the article this is about hunting not about politics.
When posting, I think is it better to truncate the title and note as such rather than rewrite it.

Early Beach Boys songs sound like Chuck Berry songs and later Phil Spector songs

buddies?
they are his brothers and cousins - they sang in the family key, that is what helped their sound. Brians cheese slipped off of the cracker a long time ago.

Brians just still bummed that his buddy Charlie Manson died a few years back.
I think Manson was brother Dennis's buddy...not Brian's.

The Daily Mail has changed their headline to reflect the true nature of the story.
Might want to correct the thread title. Correct title is:
"Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson battles to prevent the band he founded from performing at a hunting convention where a deer shoot with Donald Trump Jr will be auctioned off"

Hasn’t Wilson seemed to be a few french fries short of a Happy Meal off and on during his whole career? The term PRIMA DONA comes to mind. That’s what I seem to remember. His being on the outs sporadically with the rest of the group. I even remember feeling sorry for him. Well, this latest TDS flare up ices it for me. Bleep him. Sing where you please, guys.

It was Dennis Wilson who had a relationship with Manson. Dennis arranged a recording session for him at Brian’s home studio. Brian and the rest of the BBs thought Manson was bad news.
On the Album “20/20” There’s a song “Never Learn Not to Love” credited to Dennis. It’s a reworking of a Manson song, “Cease to Exist.” Manson was not amused.

I saw a documentary about him, it seems for most of the 70s / 80s a grifter quack doctor attached himself to Wilson and really messed him up with general quackery. Perhaps intentionally to keep the gravy train rolling, I don't know. Anyway, once they pried him loose from that guy, Wilson improved enough to work again.
