.Lo got political during her Super Bowl half time show which featured Latino children in cages who then broke into a rendition of 'Born in the USA' in what appeared to be a swipe at Donald Trump's immigration policies. Both Shakira and J.Lo put their Latina heritage front and center of the show, with the former - who was born in Colombia - taking to the stage shouting 'hola Miami!' before bringing out rapper Bad Bunny who sung in Spanish. But it was J.Lo who made the bigger statement during the latter part of her performance, when the lights rose on children including her own 11-year-old daughter Emme sat in cages - which appeared to reference Trump's hardline immigration policy that has seen children detained after attempting to cross the southern border illegally. Emme began by singing part of her song Let's Get Loud before J.Lo appeared in a giant American flag coat, which had the Puerto Rican flag on the other side.

“Front and center (and right and left) was their butts and crotches.”
There should have been an age warning so we could have hid the kids. I’ll probably have to speak to them earlier than planned. Especially about the chick with the tongue action.
I agree -- Shakira also looks like she is kind of having fun up there as opposed to just trying to be as sleazy as possible. JLo seems to aim more for the pure sexy/sultry look, and I wasn't a fan of that either.
I don't know, I'm a Detroit Lions fan.
I had the local Fox news on — weather forecasts are helpful in winter...And the women anchors praised the whole strip club routine...fabulous show, etc.
Ugh...I would not have wanted a tween/teen daughter to even watch that show—and J Lo’s daughter was in it...
Don’t appreciate her “political statement” about cages...She should take the board out of her own eye before making political statements about the speck in ours.
That's why my wife can never stand to watch TV with me. I am in constant snark mode when watching anything on TV.
BA-WOOOOSH! Now that’s a man’s flush!
I don’t think any of us noticed that. My 19-year-old daughter was going on about how the songs were a decade old. Meanwhile, I was reminiscing about aerobic dance.
We were told that the approval rate was nearly 100% in such cases. I can only suppose that they didn't like the fact that both my father-in-law and wife had gone off the plantation and married outside La Raza.
It’s funny how “Hispanic” is definitely a thing, unless it isn’t. Though it’s not funny being turned down for a scholarship!
Bad Bunny was the only man in white singer. The crucifix wasn’t upside down. Pictures of him before and after show it wasn’t inverted.
You would think Italians would be counted as Latins since (a)it is a Latin language from the family as Spanish and (b)Italian immigrants make up the largest portion of Argentina, the second larges country in South America. The largest, Brazil, doesn't count in most La Raza circles either because they speak Portuguese, also a Latin language.
There seems to be a very fine line between having enough people in La Raza to claim your own special racial preference, but still excluding those who might be polluted with too much European blood.
‘Latino children in cages singing Born in the USA’
So a statement about obama putting kids in cages and a song about Vietnam....
Got in a little hometown jam
So they put a rifle in my hand
Sent me off to a foreign land
To go and kill the yellow man
It makes no sense but those are liberals.
Bad Bunny. Right.
Shakira was way better anyways, even if she still clings to abysmal pop instead of her home grown style that made her famous.
