Dispensing more of her supposed invaluable expertise, MSNBCs Deadline: White House host and Republican-turned-lefty Nicolle Wallace boasted Tuesday about the barrage of anti-Trump breaking news developments (like those about John Bolton) being akin to volcanic eruptions and voting against witnesses would be political suicide.
Wallace took a stab at the first point during a break in the Senate impeachment trial prior to the final session, referring how there was a morning news gush and that's what these are and when you wake up to, like, volcano volcanic eruptions.
Today's eruption brought a second excerpt from the Bolton book, about Donald Trump seeking to do favors for autocratic leaders and the John Kelly and all of it ties together and all of it sort undergirds this public pressure. 70 percent of voters want to see and hear from witnesses, she added.
MSNBC legal analyst and former Obama official Chuck Rosenberg then compared removing a President to another specific power given to Congress in the Constitution: declare war:
(Video at source)
The Constitution reserves to Congress two of the most important decisions in the life of this country: whether to declare war and whether to remove a president from office and those two things are reserved to Congress by the text of the Constitution. A fascinating document. For either of those two things to happen, Do you want more information or less information? Do you declare war with no intelligence or with the best intelligence you can muster?

A Republican Presidential candidate has to try to lose Indiana.
So far I've heard two old people talk about this Trump impeachment sham since it began with the whistle blower report. Actually one old person (my mother) and my barber mentioned that his father was glued to the TV so I didn't even hear it directly from two people.
Maybe I live in a bubble but does anyone even care about this?
Oh please, volcanic is drama queen Wallaces Trump-hating opinion.
She is really concerned about the GOP political efforts. She is claiming there is a poll that states 75% of the people want to see the witnesses! And 51% want the President removed. Delusional!
Typical
Never heard of her.
uh,yeah. The GOP should base their strategies on an ignorant, talking-head propagandist like Nicolle Wallace ...
any senator that votes for witnesses or impeachment should be voted out..
No, he was busy that day making a delivery of 300 pounds of cash to Hunter Biden, who tipped little Willie $100K.
Honest.
He told me himself.
Said to count it myself but if I did he would have to kill me with his bare hands.
I'm still here, ain't I?
Nicole Wallace is still butt hurt because her worthless Jeb Bush isn’t president.
In other words, she is pissed about not getting a cushy, high-paying government job with lots of opportunities for her to enrich herself at the public trough.
None of the people backing Yeb! thought he would be President.
His job was to graciously lose to Hillary so she could be out historic First Woman President.

Wallace, Rick Wilson, Jennifer Rubin....
Quite right; also consistent with Team Trump's "apparent" litigation plan.
One would think the Team would want to trade Bolton for a witness; a witness that could provide compelling evidence of D's duplicity rather than one such as Eric Ciaramella who was directly involved in the matter as an actor but almost certainly would take the 5th or feign a loss of memory.
That may yet be in the cards, but if no such witness is available it seems obvious the Team's best move would have been to vote for acquittal following its response to the D's opening argument.
This pisses me off as much as anything. The Republicans should be raising this in response to every question and democrat soundbite. Before considering calling ANY new witnesses, the House democrats need to release the testimony that was already given by the 18th witness but that they don't want anyone to hear.
