Kobe Bryants death sent shock waves across the world Sunday and fans of the five-time NBA champion and the late Los Angeles Lakers legend called on the league to make a change.
Fans urged the NBA to change the logo from a figure of Jerry West to Bryant in honor of the sharpshooter who was among those killed in a helicopter crash in California.

This has about as much chance of happening as Calvin Coolidge becoming a rapper.
Seems pretty excessive. Whatever happened to “there is no “I” in “team”?
i dunno ..i heard one moron on ESPN say this is our generations “JFK” MOMENT”...when we will all remember where we were when we heard the news bout Kobe....yeesh..
Place your bets. How long does the NBA resist until it caves. I’ll go first. Just before the first game of the next season.
dunno, man. fan pressure is a thing, and fans are stupid.
Jerry West was Kobe’s “second father” for all intents and purposes, he loved Kobe like a son.
I doubt that most of these people would have the half the remorse if their own Mother passed away.
Watching golf wondering why all the news stations dropped normal programming to break in instead of waiting until the normal news hour.
It’ll happen before the end of this season..........
Kobe? Kobe who?
Got nobe interest in B-Ball.
The sun will come up tomorrow.
I don’t even remember now. Yesterday sometime I think.
Not a rapist. Not even close. Ridiculous. He was set up and victimized by a 19 year old mentally ill whore who tried to mine him for cash.
Lest we forget there were others on that flight not named Bryant:
“The two were remembered by Todd Schmidt, the principal at Paytons former elementary school, as an amazing family ... engaged, supportive, encouraging, and full of mischief and laughter.
While the world mourns the loss of a dynamic athlete and humanitarian, I mourn the loss of two people just as important, Schmidt wrote. Their impact was just as meaningful, their loss will be just as keenly felt, and our hearts are just as broken.
Why not?
The current logo is a cutout of Jerry West another famous Laker.
I’m not feelin’ the Kobe love. I haven’t watched the NBA for years, but I just don’t see why people are that blown away by Kobe’s death. It’s not like he was struck down by a horrible illness in the prime of his career like Lou Gehrig or killed while flying relief supplies to an earthquake-stricken country like Clemente. Kobe’s death was a tragic accident. I was shocked to hear it, but it’s not like it was comparable to JFK’s assassination.
Changing the logo to pay tribute to one specific player is wrong.
Add a Kobe #24 patch to the uniforms for the remainder of the season and be done with it.
