If there are witnesses in the Senate, it is not like the circus in the House. They are questioned behind closed doors by the attorneys for the parties and subsequently a videotape of the testimony is available to the Senators. There is no debate because they are there as “jurors”, only to vote their already predetermined biases, so we do not have to listen to them drone on.

To call witnesses at this phase of the impeachment trial is a judgment call as to the productive outcome for Pres Trump. After squeezing out as much perceived damage to Pres Trump as they could, the democrat leadership declared themselves winners and gifted themselves with gold fountain pen trophies. Why should the Republicans bother to now accommodate them by doing the job they refused to do? There is every reason to expect that calling witnesses will further prolong wasting the time of Republican senators by stringing this democrat circus along until next Nov. Time for Republicans to put a stop to this democrat political side show.
