Man it’s funny watching everybody imagine what’s next and getting their panties in a twist over something THEY made. Meanwhile they’re probably just going to give him new clothes. And really who cares. They don’t even make good peanuts anyway.

Like when IHOP announced they were dropping the P for Pancakes and replacing it with a B for Burgers.
Then a few weeks later they changed it back to IHOP, and they got a lot of publicity out of it.

Yeah. And of course that was always their plan, they weren’t actually going to change. Good add campaign for expanding and improving their burger menu. Cause really they shouldn’t have had Mr Peanut dressed like that since Hogans Heroes, he’s Colonel Klink, do really want to buy food from Colonel Klink?

Mr. Peanut is too dignified for today’s culture. Look for Mr. Peanut’s hip-hop, pants sagging son to take over.

When I was but a lad, there was a tiny, dusty little store in my town. Walking into that store was like stepping back into the 20s or 30s. It was a candy store (that was my main focus at the time) and a lunch counter. The phone booth in the back still had the old style pay phone with a separate ear piece. But most notable was they had a peanut roaster right in the store, and the front window was filled with peanuts, often as much as two feet deep. You could get freshly roasted peanuts in there.

this is lly stupid thing to do. Most companies would pay a fortune to develop such an iconic brand as Mr. Peanut and these guys are just throwing it away?

On a trip to the east coast last year, more of less accidentally stumbled into the heart of Virginias peanut growing region. Having eaten Planters all my life, I swore Id never buy them again. Theyre floor sweepings compared to the blessed legumes I ate out there and occasionally pick up, not terribly expensively, on Amazon.
That said, Mr Peanut is a cultural icon and this is crazy. It makes as much sense as KFCs relentless mocking of the great man of industry who founded them
