The impeachment thing is a sham and a snooze. McConnell's "fast track" schedule isn't fast enough for my taste. The Senators should be given written presentations by both sides, and 24 hours to read them. Then, 4 hours for live questions, and 4 hours for live bloviations (er, speeches). Then, the acquittal vote.
No witnesses, no dawdling. We've got to clear the decks quickly for the thing that's truly important - Super Bowl LIV
The Superbowl isn’t important. I don’t subscribe to that religion, nor does anyone else in my family.
And the last I heard, the NFL is still practicing the same bad behavior that caused most Freepers to reject them, a few years back.
Impeachment is a lot more interesting. I never watch Super Bowl. Never have. Not interested. All I know is that it will be hyped constantly for two weeks and the game will be boring. Football is almost always boring. Who the hell wants to watch all that pimp-dancing on the field anyway? It’s an embarrassment to true professionals who know how to properly conduct themselves.
Besides this is college basketball season.
I’m more worried about another showing of Heidi.
Relax, there’s no chance Mitch is going to let Trump do a SOTU address on Feb 4 with a phony impeachment hanging over his head. So it will be dealt with before the Super Bowl which is on Feb 2.
Then we can wait for the SOTU antics by AOC et al. Perhaps they’ll wear ‘lady justice’ blindfolds over only one eye, or some other nonsense, as Trump massacres them with a Ricky Gervais type performance that night.
I wouldn’t watch the Negro Felons League even if they paid me.
I’ll be watching both as they both interest me.

My NFL boycott has been so successful that I don’t even know which teams are in it this year. Hand to God.

We start a cruise on Feb. 1, and there are big doings planned for Super Bowl, and it’ll be broadcasted all over the ship. (I don’t care; I hate football.) BUT... I wonder if I’d be thrown overboard if I requested that the SOTU would be shown later that week. Maybe I’ll just stfu. (I can’t swim.)
BS. The NCAA needs reformed radically. As in, you can’t offer anyone an athletic scholarship until they’ve been accepted to the institution with a blind application based on grades and board scores. Just like your kid and mine.
Yes! Lets have the Super Bowl and a Superer Bowl and a Superest Bowl! And then we have March Madness and then -— yea — baseball! Go Mets!
They take weekends off. Not a problem.

NCAA games are immensely more entertaining than their pro equivalents.
Probably because it’s kids playing kids’ sports, and the vast majority will go onto meaningful careers in something useful when they graduate.
It’s an adult game that’s played by children because they see adults play it.
