City police in the capital Kiev has brutally beaten activists who came to the meeting by Russian blogger advertising benefits of possible Russian occupation.
In Kiev the police officers violently arrested two activists of the patriotic movement "Vidsich" who came to the convention center to disrupt the mass gathering organized by the Russian blogger Alexandra Mitroshina who previously visited occupied Crimea without valid Ukrainian visa and brasenly ridiculed the question by activists: 'Is Crimea Ukraine?' .
As announced on the Facebook page of "Vidsich" the incident occurred at a meeting by Russian blogger, ex-journalist of a propaganda TV channel "Russia" named Alexandra Mitroshina".
"The meeting was attended by several patriots including members of "Vidsich" who decided to ask why the blogger ignores the Ukrainian law and whom she thinks Crimea belongs to. Activists were threatened by the crowd of blogger's fans, some of them even threatened to kill one of the activists", – said in the message.
Soon the police has arrived at scene and instead of disrupting the mass gathering of irresponsible unpatriotic citizens the officers joined the crowd and began to illegally demand activists to leave the premises for further proceeding. Patriots instead demanded them to do their job in accordance with law.
"As a result activists Leonid Ovcharenko and Alexey Kalnitsky were handcuffed and taken into custody. Leonid was also put on his knees in front of a crowd. He was also severely beaten in the head", – stated by the organization.
The activists were taken to the police station and the cops refused to call an ambulance to treat would. Doctors were called by their fellow activists and visited patriots in custody. They insisted on hospitalization of the detainee, but police refused.

I can’t tell if they are pro or anti-Russia or Pro-Ukrainian activists or what. I’m usually not that dense but that slavic grammar is weird.
I agree about grammar. The idea is that a Russian YouTuber came to Kiev and a crowd of fans gathered. Some nationalists decided it is unpatriotic and they came to start trouble. Ended up arrested themselves.

I think the grammar is weird because it is translating exactly from, I assume Ukranian which may have the same basic grammar rules as Russian. This means sentence word placement which sounds odd in English. Also there is not the, an, or a before a noun.
Generally true but with little experience it is not that hard to understand at all.
