Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Oscar Meyer announced it is seeking a new "hotdogger" to be in charge of taking the iconic Wienermobile across the country to promote the brand.
The company said in a job posting online that it is seeking a "hotdogger" to "travel the hot dog highways of America" with the Wienermobile and to act as a "traveling public relations firm."
Oscar Meyer said it is especially seeking graduates with a BA or BS in fields including public relations, journalism, communications, advertising and marketing, although degrees in other fields of study will also be considered.
"Oscar Mayer uses the Wienermobile at special events throughout the country and they need people like you to coordinate all aspects of Wienermobile travel and event management," the posting states.
I last saw one back in the early 90’s parked at a supermarket on Georgia Ave. in Wheaton, MD. Locked up, nobody around. If you’ve ever been to Wheaton, especially now, it’s amazing nobody tried to go for a little joy ride.
There’s no such company “Oscar Meyer”
it’s
“Oscar Mayer”
Dam that Mandela Effect
Haha....yep, perfect job for wieners.....
In Tallahassee, about a year or two ago, I saw one in the parking lot at a Super Wal-Mart, the one on the east side near I-10. Considering the funky aerodynamics, driving that beast on the Interstate must be a chore.
That must have been the one I saw!...................
Ex Democrat Speaker of the House Paul Ryan is available.
only job he ever had
Could be.
Well, he is full of baloney!.....................
And if the Wienermobile were carrying food items for public distribution, it would be subject to inspections, etc.
A ten year old doesn’t think of such things.
;^)
Having worked in a restaurant in my teens I know all the requirements!...... 140°F dish washing temp, restrooms and washbasins, Rodent and roach traps, Stainless steel counters and food prep surfaces.......................
You need a college degree to drive the wienermobile?
Well, it’s a big vehicle......................
'74 Dart? Man, there's a flashback. I had a Plymouth Duster I'd bought for $100. I think it was a '70. It was so old, it was still being sold under the Valiant badge that year. It had a rod knocking like a pile driver, so I got a good, used engine, a couple cases of beer, an engine winch, and we had an old-fashioned Engine Swap party one night. I literally ran that sucker into the ground. Dropped the tranny. I just left it where it was and walked away. LOL
OK....those are all reasonable precautions.
I was just describing.....hey wait a second, Oscar Meyer TV ads featuring Little Oscar & the Wienermobile showed the vehicle surrounded by kids, as L.O. passed out hot dogs wrapped in paper just like at a ball game. That’s why I was disappointed! Truth in advertising, huh!
And (real question) how are sidewalk hot dog vendors licensed and inspected? Does the vendor load his cart with food prepared in a kitchen that meets city standards, or does he bring it from home? How is remote food service controlled?
I pulled KP in the Army and I later inspected kitchens; a good mess sergeant literally strove to make his kitchen floor clean enough to eat off of. And I knew a reservist who worked for the city of Baltimore health department; he told of what he found in some restaurant kitchens that can’t be described here.
Anyway, interesting discussion. Food service is a favorite topic because one can never be too careful with kitchen hygiene.
A couple of years ago, some local entrepreneur was having bikini clad girls selling hot dogs from carts on the sides of the main tourist roads, was doing a pretty good business until the health department shut him down.............
Would like to see the health department’s citation.
;^)
They weren’t wearing gloves as required and there were no sanitary wash facilities...............
Sounds like you wrote ‘em up.
;^)
No, it was ‘big news’ here on local TV...................
