The outgoing boss of BP has revealed some of his daughter's friends in California are on antidepressants because of their worries over climate change.
Bob Dudley, who is to step down as chief executive in February, admitted he hated seeing 'young people so unhappy, so anxious' about the impact of global warming from increasing carbon emissions.
**SNIP**
Mr Dudley added that he hated seeing young people so anxious, and that his daughter told him people around her are on antidepressants.
Despite investing green energies, such as biofuels and solar power, BP has been criticised for putting only 3 percent of its annual spending budget into renewables.

Good point. That would be stressful.
The younger generation wants medication to quickly fix all their problems. They lack discipline and patience to work at things. ADD meds for weight and studying, acne meds, depression meds to cope with low self esteem. Big Pharma can fix everything for this generation.good parenting has been replaced with a pill.
Well said.
I hear this constantly. Women telling me that their adult children will not have children, because of the climate issues. and that it is not good for the planet.
Women and men worried about the future and bringing children into the world.
People medicated for general anxiety disorder because of their obsessional thinking about the environment.
Brought to you by leftist public schools and leftist higher education
Lots of majors in environmental sciences which is the communication major of this day.
BTW all of these people are Caucasian.
It worked. BP had the s**tiest safety & environment record but the public believed that BP was Mother Natures herself.
Oh and that guys daughter has so many friends on psych meds because its California and they have money.
Thank you. I have children in their 20s (and their ‘teens, and their preteens). I sympathize with both the goofball young people and their befuddled parents.
Life is either too short or too long - pick your perspective - to be in an existential Fuss. They should all put their phones away and go enjoy some exercise or visit an art museum or foster homeless kittens.
And go to church and email your grandmother!
My fist thought also.....social worker....paid propaganda.
People are talking drugs to not feel....prescribed or not
If I rolled my eyes any harder, they’d be stuck in my head.
Not all are like this. Maybe not even most
I blame parents for not instructing their children
The only anxiety I see in my kids is when they express disgust at the stupidity of their own misled generation.
Can I send them some rope?
And cocaine, meth, crack, alcohol and zanax. Oh the humanity. They learn this form the irresponsible blaming eveyone else for their problem, adults
Heck, the Churches are spewing this nonsense, as well.
I thought they were already taking antidepressants because of Trump?
All that because of a truant Swedish kid going on TV and yelling?
They might find a comfort zone in Guyana, in the northwestern part of Guyana, right next to Venezuela...
The story here is the mental illness, not the object of the minds of the mentally ill.
If someone has a bad cold, snot is just a symptom and part of the body's coping process. Snot does not cause a bad cold.
Unless of course you snot all over your friend, or perhaps could broadcast the snot into peoples' respiratory systems. That of course is what public education, academia and the media are for.
Also life has become relatively easy - the world is going great as a whole - the western white male patriarchy has done a pretty damn good job of eliminating many of the survival and comfort problems of human beings on earth - problems that once occupied people in a healthy way. If a person doesn't invent his own challenge or have a connection to something greater than himself, he will be subject to and attracted to the types of propaganda that thrive in groups of humans who have a lack of purpose and sense of meaninglessness.
I agree. The stupid. It burns.
