The Weekly Gardening Thread is a weekly gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds. From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you.
If you have specific question about a plant/problem you are having, please remember to state the Growing Zone where you are located.
This thread is non-political respite. No matter what, you wont be flamed, and the only dumb question is the one that isnt asked.
It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. Planting, Harvest to Table Recipes, Preserving, Good Living - there is no telling where it will go - and that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us! Send a Private Message to Diana in Wisconsin if you'd like to be added to our New & Improved Ping List.
NOTE: This is a once a week Ping List. We do post to the thread during the week. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest to Gardeners are welcomed any time!
Re: Your tomatoes. All good things must come to an end. :(
Merry Christmas to all of my Gardening Friends and Lurkers!
That is so cute!
Thank you. And Merry Christmas to you, and all my fellow Freepers too!
Awesome!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Thats brilliant!!
Priceless!
Awesome Santa! Ho ho ho.
“Even though I grew up on Milwaukee, I cant stand the sweetness and the too-many bubbles of PAbst Blue Ribbon. And I agree on those fruity Leinenkugel beers they have out now. Bleck!”
If you make it with fruit its not beer! “Nach die Reinheitsgebote”: Water, malt, and hops only!)
Then there was Point Special! (And in the Driftless, any brand made in Monroe should be considered a local beer.)
LOL! I remember Point Special!
Any of the beers from New Glarus Brewing Company are good. Spotted Cow is the only beer I have in the house. I don’t drink much beer, but it’s great on a hot summer day after gardening, or to use in Chili or Beer Bread. :)
49 degrees here right now! I went out in a tshirt and dumped compost and then walked a bag of trash down the steep driveway just because I could. No snow no ice, and it looks like a beautiful sunset!
Thank you - and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of our gardening Freepers - especially “greeneyes” - we haven’t forgotten you.
And a blessed Christmas to you Silentgypsy, to Diane and Greeneyes, and to all Christians, and Happy Hanukkah to anyone who celebrates Haunukka and who lurks or posts here, and to the rest of you, well, I suppose enjoy the lights and food and longer days to come!

I’d say those plants have just about had it! LOL I’m reduced to buying organic grape tomatoes from Walmart, just to make my salad look better.
Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you too.
Merry Christmas Diana. Love all your pics and memes. Thanks for keeping the thread going. I really needed to retire —lots going on.
You’re Welcome. It’ll help keep me sane as Winter drags on!
Merry Christmas to you and yours! :)
