A boy who penned a letter to Santa Claus while living in a family shelter is drawing support from strangers across the country.
Blake's note to St. Nick was shared on Facebook Wednesday by SafeHaven of Tarrant County, Texas, and garnered hundreds of comments and shares.
The 7-year-old and his mom are residents at one of two shelters run by SafeHaven, a non-profit that helps domestic violence survivors in Fort Worth, Texas.
It read...
Dear Santa,
We had to leave our house. Dad was mad. We had to do all the chores. Dad got everything he wanted. Mom said it was time to leave and she would take us to a safer place where we dont have to be scared.
Im still nervous. I dont want to talk to the other kids. Are you going to come this Christmas? We dont have any of our stuff here. Can you bring some chapter books, a dictionary, and a compass and a watch? I also want a very, very, very good dad. Can you do that, too?
Love, Blake

That is a very mature letter for a seven year old.
I give him little chance of getting a nice dad (stepdad) for Christmas.
Nice stepdads are very hard to come by.
Moms that hooked up with abusive men and manage to escape their clutches typically find another abusive twit to replace him with.
Man bad, is what this is about.
Call me heartless but this does not ring true.
a lot of men need to grow up. a lot of women too. the children are watching
A mother coaching her child against the father. That would never happen.
I hate being cynical too.
But it isnt hard to figure out how to wring cash and prizes from social media whores looking to selfie themselves in front of a needy family.
I can hate the game, but the player is just doing what it takes to eat.
Yep dad dared to set rules boundaries whilst mommykins prefers to coddle and ladle ADHD meds. And I’m a woman who has been divorced due to actual DV. “Dad got mad?” If there was real DV then said kid would be saying “Dad punched Mom”

Yup.
Given the fake news, hoax crimes, and go fundme frauds, skepticism is warranted. If you are moved by this story, call local agencies in your town about families in need.
Mom should find a Bible believing church and make it the biggest priority in her and her son’s life.
I would guess that is the last thing she will consider, otherwise her son wouldn’t essentially be praying to Santa Claus.
I agree. If I kept reading, would I find “Orange Man Bad” referenced?
So much of what passes for news these days is just a variation of how Trump is a Nazi.
I have everything, materially, I could ever want.
I want NOTHING.
I have no idea why this season makes people buy things for people who want and need NOTHING.
Then again I am in Virginia where for the first time in my life we’re seeing homeless drug addicted people begging.
Maybe what I want is a red state again.
This incident here may very well be a “holiday heartbreak sobstory” and I sure hope that's the case.
May God protect all innocent children from any danger or harm.
You gotta want it, gotta get it.
Your Gov is talking confiscation.
At the very least you and/or your neighbors could be gun-shopping.
At the very worst---the very worst is an ugly picture.
Or a synagogue.
Fake. That handwriting is not from a seven year old. Especially a boy.
but dad got everything he wanted. a true FR hero.
Calling fake on this one...
