If the election is over and has been certified then these newly found ballots are irrelevant.

The newly found box of ballots should not be counted.

“Today, unoffical numbers show Hispanics are over 42% and 3% lower than Midland’s white population.”

Are those all Illegal Aliens of is there a possibility that some Hispanics are actually citizens and have been in the area for generations?

This is Texas. You have to account for the sports shrines they build - like this

This is why people who say that elections should be run on the basis of hand counted paper ballots are insane.

'We need paper ballots so we have a paper trail'.

How do paper ballots prevent fraud?

Just “found”...an interesting choice of words...

They’ve had weeks to gin up and hide (in plain sight) what they wanted to achieve their desired outcome. Time to “find” them.

Right out of the Dem playbook. Nobody “finds” an uncounted ballot box. Demand a new election. If they won’t comply let there be civil disobedience. Enough of this crap.

And of course autocorrect changed “sane” to “same”.

It happens to me almost every time I use a tablet or phone to post here without turning autocorrect off. Autocorrect is great when it corrects misspelled words and typos, but why it changes correctly spelled words to something that alters the meaning it always baffles me. You would think that this would be a mature technology by now.

As far as the subject at hand... our school system has spent billions of dollars on new schools over the past 20 years. Yet the performance of the ever increasing percentage of “minority” students continues to decline. When they were spending a third as much per student in inflation adjusted dollars 50 years ago and teaching the actual subjects people need to know to be productive citizens, somehow the kids did a lot better.

Does that ballot box include the votes for Lyndon Johnson?

Every time this sort of thing happens someone should go to jail.

Jail? You are way too kind. Meanwhile, the inmates are running the asylum.

The election should be declared invalid. The same thing with any other election where the chain of command on ballots is not solid. And who ever is responsible for this should be fired.

Not sure this is the Dems. The story says that the original recount changed to approving the bond and now they’re worried it will be reversed to rejecting the proposal again.

Think there’s some misreading of the article.

Too bad, so sad.

It would be hysterical if the ballots actually pushed it further ahead and the win were by more votes.

So in the actual election, the votes were:

For: 11803
Against: 11828

In the recount, they were
For: 11411
Against: 11400

They lost 820 votes in the recount, or about 4%.

Did NOBODY think it was odd that their computer count was 4% different from their hand count? I’ve seen recounts change things, but usually it is by less than 1/2 of 1%. A 4% swing in the number of votes, TO THE NEGATIVE, is unheard of

(often, there are MORE votes found in a recount, as they count things the computer might have missed, or additional absentee ballots show up in the mail, properly marked but lost or slowed in transmission, or they actually find ballots not run through the machine).

Losing 800 votes should have caused them to question the recount, and to launch a manhunt to find the missing ballots.

That they blindly accepted the recount is probably a good sign they really wanted the question to succeed, and were happy with the recount.
