James Bond fans have heaped praise on writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge for championing women's empowerment after the first full trailer for the latest installment was released on Wednesday.
The new promotional clip sent viewers into meltdown as lead actress Lashana Lynch was unveiled as fierce agent Nomi - rumoured to be the first female 007 - alongside James Bond actor Daniel Craig, his love Madeleine (Lea Seydoux) and his aid Paloma, played by Ana de Armas.
And with the theme of feminism present in the film, excited social media users lauded Fleabag's Phoebe, 34, for bringing female characters to the forefront of the iconic franchise.

Oh, come on, that's a common problem all long-running series' have. For that matter, the original guy to play Bond in movies (Connery) is in his 80's now.
Usually, when a character lives past his original age, the writers just sort of freeze him (or her) at a certain age and we pretend it works. That's why Spiderman stayed high-school and college age for decades. Hercule Poirot fled Belgium during WWI, but Agatha Christie kept writing the stories into the 1970's. When they adapted the Poiro stories for TV, they decided to set them all in the 1930's.
I am not going to see this Bond flick. I am beyond fatigue with Hollywierd propaganda about women being better than men at everything. The leftist push to disenfranchise men has got to be stopped.
If there is a later director’s cut where James Bond uses the car ejector seat on his bag of a woman I just might watch that.
Had her own personal air force - all women. There was a strong female badass in nearly every Bond film. My personal favorite: Xenia Onatopp.
The female lead taking over for 007 may be a red herring. The name “Nomi” in Spanish and Italian means “Not Me”.

The new Jane Bond movie is going to tank.
This is disheartening to me. I’m 32, and grew up on Bond, a series I was introduced to by my dad. Nobody will ever top Connery for me, though Craig comes in a close second and Brosnan in third. Dalton and Lazenby might as well have not been cast, in my opinion.
Like Dalton and Lazenby, a female 007 will never be a Bond to me. This coming from a woman, too.
I just went and watched the trailer. Surprised Nomi was hardly featured in the trailer.

My guess is if the buzz in this film is bad then it will certainly gross less than the other Craig movies.
In fact if this film doesn’t do better than say $500 to 600 Million that will be considered a huge failure. “Skyfall” did over $1 Billion.
Au contraire. Dalton and Lazenby were quite good, and both fitting successors to Connery. Danny Craig is just a blonde thug emotional iceberg with little resemblance to the character.
It’s sad to see another respectable movie franchise commit suicide in this way.

The actress that will play his love interest is a lesbian in real life. James Bond cannot even shake the women now nor stir them.
