James Bond fans have heaped praise on writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge for championing women's empowerment after the first full trailer for the latest installment was released on Wednesday.
The new promotional clip sent viewers into meltdown as lead actress Lashana Lynch was unveiled as fierce agent Nomi - rumoured to be the first female 007 - alongside James Bond actor Daniel Craig, his love Madeleine (Lea Seydoux) and his aid Paloma, played by Ana de Armas.
And with the theme of feminism present in the film, excited social media users lauded Fleabag's Phoebe, 34, for bringing female characters to the forefront of the iconic franchise.

Wow. What is it? Really, it's like this hypnotic cult that women constantly feel or imagine themselves as these poor, oppressed and downtrodden victims of some imaginary force. Really creepy.
Look at every single TV commercial today, there is almost never any male unless he's distinctly portrayed as a submissive buffoon. And if there are any children at all in any commercial there is almost never and boys -- at all. And if there is a boy, it's one among many and typically a non-White. It's the oddest thing ever is this prurient obsession that demands women always be reinforced.
No they aren't. Wimpy pajama boys liberal sock puppets are flooding social media as they always do.
James Bond fans have no interest in seeing a "woke" revamped version of a Liberal Warrior Princess of Color.
It doesn’t matter to me other than I would like to see it return to the sort of movie when it started.
James Bond has been dead to me almost as long as Ian Fleming and he died a long time ago.
Yup. This move is utter crap. I very much doubt Ian Flemming would approve. He was a real soldier.

The whole James Bond franchise needs to be retired. Read the books, Bond was a WWII vet!
The need to find another MI6 hero. If they got to keep the Bond connection make the new super-spy his grandson, grand-nephew, grand-niece, granddaughter or even both a grand-tranny. How about take a grandson, granddaughter, grand-niece, grand-nephew combined them all together into one superspy! Now that’s diversity & “wokeness”!
