Actually, its not. Its general tech gift advice. Note the no AppleWatch for Android phone users advice (read it in reverse), and no bargain basement Chromebook advice. . . They cant be updated if they are too far beyond intro-date. Buy your giftee a much newer one, they arent that expensive to begin with. In other words, buy gifts that are appropriate for the recipient.

29 years ago my engineer father in law knew I wanted a Nintendo or whatever game system was popular at the time.
I got an expensive game system. An Odyssey 2 from Magnavox. My FIL was very excited. Kept telling me it had full microprocessor! I looked at him with the kind of questioning look my dog gives when I talk to him.
I wanted the friggen Nintendo
