Around here and in many other states one can only discharge their firearm at an wild animal(outside of legal hunting) if human life is threatened. Guy should of said he was in fear of his friend Greg’s life.

I supplemented the bull nose rounds for my .45 ACP with rounds that look just like that. The extra expansion wouldn’t keep them from passing through a human body - just make the energy shock greater and the exit hole bigger...

There’s something to be said for Dutch loading. High expansion rounds at the top of the magazine, high penetration rounds further down...

In the article, the expert states that he always carries full metal jacket when concerned about bears.

That is not the best advice from my reading on the subject. I am not a bear hunter, but having had a couple of close encounters I have researched the subject and the best bullet regardless of caliber is a hard cast flat nose.

Buffalo Bore recommends hard cast. John Limbaugh, the inventor and builder of the Limbaugh line of high powered revolvers for hunting big game has the same advice.
