Washington Post quietly changes story on altered Russia probe document
NY Post ^ | 11/22/2019 | Lia Eustachewich

The Washington Post deleted a key detail from its reporting about the FBI lawyer accused of altering a document related to the surveillance of a former Trump campaign adviser, according to a new report. The newspaper nixed a portion of its story that identified the lawyer as an FBI employee underneath Peter Strzok, the ousted FBI agent who worked on the feds’ investigation into Russian election meddling, Fox News reported.

The update was made just after midnight Friday without explanation. The lawyer in question is accused of fudging the document related to the FBI’s Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court warrant application to surveil Carter Page in 2016. The altered paperwork, however, did not change the validity of the warrant, according to the Washington Post. Two officials told the newspaper that the lawyer was forced out over the incident. The allegation against the lawyer is contained in a draft of Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report analyzing how the FBI obtained FISA warrants on Page. The report will be released on Dec. 9.

CNN and WP got early details of the FISA report.
Now they are going to hide their complicity in Obstruction of Justice.

We won't know if Horowitz flipped, or attempted to flip, the lawyer until the IG report comes out. But, from what I know about US Attorney John Durham, I am confident that he or his team of investigators will get do whatever it takes to get to the truth, know matter who is involved.

Did you notice how the Post added to the story the “change” did nothing to undermine the validity of the warrant.

Wonder what law school this reporter attended? Let me see....he changed a material fact in the warrant application which could or could not make a difference in the granting of the warrant....but it didn’t change the validity of the warrant.

Damn...I wish I could have gotten away with that when I submitted an application for a search warrant. “Hey Judge, there’s a guy who lives on this street, not sure of the address, not sure of his name, but I think he sells drugs. Can I go kick a door in”?

I have no faith that the IG report will be anything more than the same whitewash Horowitz is known for.
Durham is questioning the right people, so there is some hope.

I just read in the WSJ that the Horowitz report says that the altered document did not change its conclusion that there was a proper legal basis for monitoring Page. As I have been saying Horowitz is part of the Deep State. I don’t think these investigations are going to vindicate the rule of law. They are just part of the cover up.

Lisa Page has already admitted to this.
Further investigation means conspiracy.

Altering such a document is a matter quite a bit more serious than warranting a mere dismissal, if in fact that even happened. Of course, the WaPo says it happened. And who could be more trustworthy than somebody who just went back and carefully covered their tracks?
