Yeah I’m not buying any of this for a second. The whole food tester thing was always a myth, and wouldn’t actually work anyway, at least if the poisoner is smart enough to use a poison that takes more than 20 minute, or requires a non-negligible dosage.

IIRC, the Bushes and their party got seriously ill after a state visit to Egypt about 2004. They implied it was likely food poisoning, since the whole party became ill. Inside WH, they watch the staff carefully, and on the road, usually order things anonymously. However, there are many situations where they just can't have perfect security.
