Henderson State University chemistry professors Terry Bateman, 45, and Bradley Rowland, 40, were charged Friday with the manufacture of methamphetamine and the use of drug paraphernalia, Fox 16 Little Rock reported.
Students suspected meth may have been involved when a chemical spill closed the colleges science building in October for three weeks, the station reported.
I heard rumors about it and I thought it might be true, but now that they actually got arrested Im like wow, sophomore Ebuka Okeke told the station. Thats something else.

Breaking Bad
Henderson State University? Is that one of those colleges which requires a positive result on either the SAT, the ACT or an EKG for admission?
or a positive for drugs. They have to have SOME standards.
Where’s the arrests of their customers?
I’m a Chemistry Professor. My students often ask if I’ve watched Breaking Bad. I answer yes. They ask if I was ever tempted to manufacture meth. I tell them this is the dark side of humanity, meth is pure evil and so is anyone who would bring about the destruction of innocent children.
Good answer.
When I was a PhD student one of he older (late 20’s) masters students in lab hit the lotto. Not a huge amount, maybe $200K equivalent to today.
He didn’t last long as a student and about a year later we saw he was arrested for having a meth lab.
Meh - it was a science experiment.
I wanted to see how many posts there would be before a picture of him was shown :)
The profit potential is ridiculous.
I was on roxy’s for a while and I was offered 3,000 dollars for a bottle that cost me a 5 dollar co pay.
And this was ELEVEN years ago.
I passed.
You figure a 240 pill max dose roxy bottle will go for about 20,000 dollars today if sold on the streets and not wholesale.
For a 5 or 10 dollar co pay.
That’s scary.

I probably have several containers with 4 or 5 old oxy pills in them laying about. “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”.
That’s certainly a fitting statement here! :)
They were STRONG ones I took and they just didn’t help with the pain (post stroke, hard to treat) and I came off of a very high dose with no problem.
CANNOT say the same for klonopin, a benzo.
VERY HARD to get off of. Again, prescribed med.
My son is an HSU alumnus.
Aviation, not chem.
They don’t look like Einsteins—or Heisenbergs... ;-)
It's an old Arkansas family name. Like Clinton. /s
