I received word from 2ndDivisionVet wife that he passed away.
I am not using his real name here out of respect but, will ping his handle and his wife can if she would like.
I didn't ask what he died from but, knowing him for better than 10 years, I knew of medical conditions and a few terrible Operations he had.
He was a wonderful human being who cared deeply for his fellow Americans and the ideals that make this country so great that people the world over want to come here and be free, live in liberty and be whoever they want
If you have ever spoke with 2ndDivisionVet, you know he was quick witted and wry.
What had always amazed me about him was not just his humor but, his ability to somehow take life in stride despite all he endured and be cheerfull.
He was amazingly resourceful in scouring the web for article we might find interesting.
Yes, 2ndDivisionVet really cared about all of us and our presence in his life gave him purpose
I really wish God had let him stay but, my thoughts are more selfish than the absolute knowledge that he is in a better place.
I hope to see him again one day.
Rest in peace and smile down on us 2ndDivisionVet
I always respected him because he was a Veteran and I don't care who you are, you fight for this country your a hero...
I know he is looking down right now knowing the loss we feel that we won't have our ‘buddy’ with us anymore...
God Bless his family, bring them peace and watch over all of them. Amen.
Prayers for he and his family.
RIP 2ndDivisionVet

I liked his posts. He seemed like a class act. RIP
A true patriot who loved this nation.
All my prayers for his family and friends who will feel the direct pain of his passing.
A terrible loss. 2d Division Vet was a wonderful part of Free Republic. He posted countless articles, offered great insight, fiercely believed in this country, and stands with the best who’ve ever posted here.
RIP, Warrior.
You were definitely a FRiend.
He was an epic Freeper and I will miss him. May he have eternal life. God bless!

Condolences to the family of 2nd Div Vet. His postings were always worth reading and responding to. I appreciate that he was willing to post even tho apparently it was difficult for him to do so. Rest in peace DV and thank you for your service to country and all of us. You were a significant contributor to this FR forum and will be missed by all of us.
So very heartbroken. 2ndDivisionVet will be sorely missed and my tears cannot be as many as those shed by family, friends, and brothers-in-arms. Prayers for all.
Rest In Peace and joy, 2nd. See you on the other side.
I also send condolences to his family and friends. Seems like we are at that age, as someone said.
It's fitting that he passed so near Veteran's Day.
I will remember him as a brave soldier and Patriot forever.
Oh my gosh, what a shock to open FR and see this.
God bless your soul, Vet, and God comfort your friends and family.
Thank you for your lifelong service to our country.
He was the consumate citizen-patriot Freeper, posting articles quick as they published. He posted stuff he didn’t agree with in order to get the dialog going. I met him at a gas station, good man. He was being watched by the FBI, but that won’t surprise the folks on this site.
Very sad to hear this. He was a fantastic contributor and person in my humble opinion. RIP brother. See you on the other side.
