This could be the reason people with sleep apnea become obese.
Nah I was obese before I got sleep apnea and lost 120 pound while I had sleep apnea :)
People who eat too much become obese. People who eat less than their required calorie lose weight.
I know firsthand :)
There were NO overweight people in holocaust camps, regardless of whether they had sleep apnea or a defective thyroid or a gland affectation or whatever.
The true horror is they starved.
The reality for 99.99 percent of overweight people is they eat too much.
Im still fat lol. Just 120 pounds LESS FAT :)
Fasting is a challenge. But it is good for the immune system and other things. As for weight loss: the most important thing is sleep. 5.5 hours or less really slows the calorie consumption by the body.
“This could be the reason people with sleep apnea become obese.”
I’m pretty sure that’s the other way around.
I have already seen some detractors, but in general, many people who have undiagnosed sleep apnea gain weight. I know of more than one person who reversed weight gain once they got a cpap machine and could sleep better.
Personally, if I go to bed on time and engage in about 30 minutes of exercise everyday (which helps me sleep), my diet is different. I am not nearly as hungry and have very few food cravings. If I have less sleep, there isn’t a drive through I can pass by, bag of chips or soda I can’t pass up. Kettle corn becomes a food group. On top of that my body probably isn’t processing these foods as well as if I had rest.

I know first hand that prednisone drastically increases blood sugar.
Why waste time on mice? This kind of research can be done on humans. In the KETO community there is amazing research going on with volunteers. Google, Dave Feldman
By 3:00 AM, the carbs are digested. that event causes disruption resulting in awakening.
Anyone on this ping list familiar with, being on the keto diet and having epilepsy and/or ulcerative colitis?
