A NEW politically correct BBC version of The War of the Worlds attacks religion and the British Empire and highlights climate change.
It also creates a female lead for a character barely mentioned in HG Wellss book.

BBC? The Brits will love it considering they have surrendered to practically everything up to and including the folks that will eventually exterminate them via the scimitar.
Thanks for the warning. I’ll watch the George Pal version this weekend in protest.
Let’s see. The BBC has successfully killed ‘Top Gear’, ‘Doctor Who’, ‘The Great British Baking Show’ and now they’re going after ‘War of the Worlds’.
I guess it goes without saying the church scene is out.
These shows are not entertainment, they are propaganda.
I noticed a week or so ago that “Nancy Drew” has returned. I used to enjoy the various TV series based on the books.
I will not even watch this one to see how good it is. I know before hand that it will simply be Pavlovian conditioning.
“Climate change”
Now _that_ is what I call science _fiction_!
I'll always have this ...
Let me guess, there is a muslim character who does some heroic thing despite facing discrimination from all the stuffy Brits?
If they first corrupted Scripture, then don’t be surprised by what they attack next.
Well there was no church scene in Wells’ book and that was also kind of an anti colonialist theme. Essentially asking the Brits how they would like to be colonized by a stronger power.
Everything the BBC does now is woke. They wrote it into their standards.
like sell slaves to the martians, as allah wills.
There is no need to watch anything new from the BBC in the Age of Woke. Fortunately, there have been enough programs and films made up to now that it is no big loss IMO to simply skip today’s woke crap.
I imagine you are correct. I bet the BBC really does require leftist propaganda and woke ideas to be included in any of their programs.
I know that at least one U.S. Network requires employees to push minorities in their programming. It is literally written into their contracts.
I like Poldark and Durrells that have run recently.
Mostly for cinematography I guess.
Are the martians just refugees seeking a better life?
Are the martians just refugees seeking a better life?
To be fair, HG wells would probably have approved, since he was an anti imperialist atheist and feminist of his day.
