I have read a couple of H.G. Wells books. They are actually not very readable. He had great ideas but that is about it.
I am not sure if it was just the translator but Jules Verne is far better reading.
I have seen the yt vids, in other languages than British english, and they screwed the pooch!!
You’ll be glad to know that there is a French version (English with subs for the occasional French - La Guerre des mondes) that is MUCH better. No woke crap. Re-imaged in the present. Very mysterious unlike the original and the woke remake. Season 1 is uploaded and complete - 8 episodes
