“Yech.

Krispy Kreme is bad enough without being non-fresh.”

KK is the best. I almost cried when they pulled out of Minnesota.

Cinnamon/Sugar Cake Doughnut is the only way to go. If they don’t make those, they don’t get my business.

Any company with a shred of intelligence would try to figure out a way to expand distribution into an area with that kind of demand for your product. Maybe hire the guy who’s currently doing guerrilla marketing and legitimize the operation? Oh no, let’s shut that down and prohibit the sale of our product. “Genius”...

You got it exactly!

Can Oscar Mayer prevent you from selling their hot dogs at your hot dog stand? Nope. Same deal.

Sorry, nobody does it like our old German bakeries, and KK is the very worst. Glad they had to recede a little here.

Southerners are great cooks but not in baking.

Starting in ‘74, our class sold KK donuts to raise money for our senior trip. They would arrive from Augusta every Tuesday morning, still warm. I ate so many that I can hardly look at them today. That said, I believe they still offer fund raising promotions. Perhaps the minimum order was more than this guy could deal with.

I regularly bring in donuts for my office and never eat a single one. I tell them that it is part of my master plan to make everyone else fat, so I am the best looking man in the office. Hasn’t worked yet; but, I keep trying.

“Last Wednesday morning about 24 boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts appeared in the break rooms and atop filling cabinets throughout the office”

Like all doughnuts, Krispy Kreme doughnuts are only good when someone else buys them.

So I'm having a picnic. 500 people are coming. There is an admission fee which covers all expenses and included 40 dozen Krispy Kreme.

Krispy Kreme's ownership of the 40 dozen ended at the KK door.

Who stopped the sale ? This is Minneapols where strange things occur.
If you owned a donut outlet and someone is buying a bunch from you. Would you stop selling to that customer because they are reselling them in another area far away from your store?

Around 15 years ago the first Krispy Kreme in the Minneapolis area, Maple Grove, opened up. Long lines, etc. It’s like they were selling crack.

But that store and the others that followed all disappeared a few years later.

I never figured out what the fuss was all about. I could get the same stuff at the local grocery store for a lot less money.

Krispy Kreme was a southern institution founded in Winston-Salem, NC, in 1937. I grew up on them. Sadly the German-owned JAB holding company bought them out in 2016. The doughnut quality has suffered since - less icing.

He can NOT sell them using the KK name. He may own the donuts but Krispy Kreme owns the name.

I like KK and DD, but I won’t go out of my way to get DD. KK I can get at the grocery store. Shipley’s I never liked...
