Sen. Mitt Romney says he supports college athletes being able to capitalize on their name, image and likeness. But he doesn’t want to see the most prominent athletes at each school making considerably more money than everyone else.

Romney (R-Utah), was on ESPN’s Outside the Lines on Wednesday where he said college athletes deserved to make money because of the revenue that they bring to their schools. But he said athletes getting paid “could lead to some very unusual circumstances that need to be avoided.”

That literally makes my brain hurt. No wonder kids come off of college campuses believing in socialism.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need."

Go with it Mitt.

“Well, as a Conservative, I would of course like to have a say in who can and who cannot be paid. I would also like to determine the amounts that people are paid. We must be fair, and I am just the man to determine how much money in your pocket would be fair, because I am, after all, a Conservative.”

NOTE: Not an actual quote. But I consider Romney a total joke.

College football is broken. The only fix will be a farm league.

Why not? Because like all leftist stooges, Mitt is governed by "feeeeelings" not logic. The university makes big time bank on the backs of these kids work, they set up a system to prevent them from even having a part time job, making them serfs to the NCAA and Mitt was A-okay with that. Give them a chance to make some dough and this puppet is "concerned". Screw him, he's wrong on everything.

The "most prominent athletes" in these schools will end up earning more than the school presidents and the head football and basketball coaches COMBINED.

One sports radio host here in my local area said the NCAA had no choice in implementing this policy, but that it would also bring about the end of college sports as we know it.

"Those unusual circumstances are, apparently, players making enough money to afford Ferraris."

Gee Mitt isn't it racist to deny the lower class the opportunity to buy a Ferrari? It's not like they would put a dog cage on the roof......

I have a friend whose nephew is a bench player in Major League Baseball. His salary last year was just under $600K.

Mike Trout made $18 million. In sports, as in life, that’s just the way it is.

I know a school teacher in MA who is pretty upset that Tom Brady makes tens of millions of dollars for throwing a football around. She feels her work is far more important, and if anyone is going to be paid tens of millions of dollars, it should be her.

I’ve tried to tell her that life in unfair, but she thinks it shouldn’t be.
