I know what you’re going through. Jet lag is the pits! It will pass. I have found that if I just go with the weird hours of wakefulness and sleep, it passes easier, but not quicker, than if I try to force an adjustment. It takes about 1 day for every time zone you cross.

Her hubby sleeps in his study in a lounge chair like you do, can't lay down flat.
He is a retired LEO and was in so many accidents his poor body is paying for it now.
